crossposted the last few months of posts I made over here, because dreamwidth refused to import everything for some reason Dx But seeing is it was only 6 posts (8 if you count two private ones with some random stuff I want to remember) it didn't take long to do. But apart from still not liking my layout I think I'm pretty much good to go here. Might play with my icons some and get rid of more of the Arashi ones so I can add other people instead. >_> We'll see.

I've been avoiding posting this for the past couple of days, but there's no point it putting it off any longer, because it'll just get harder. Those of you that follow me on Twitter already know this.

Early Thursday morning, after being hospitalized for 6 weeks, my dad passed away due to complications from his lung cancer. Things has been up and down for a couple weeks beforehand, and Wednesday things took a sudden downturn.

His services will be Tuesday morning.

My mom and I are doing as well as can be expected so far, I think. Family has been invading since yesterday, which makes me a bit uncomfortable, but has been helping my mom. We'll see how the next few days and beyond go.

A couple of people have asked for my address already, so anyone else that wants it, just let me know and I can PM it to you.

But this made me giggle, and I've been in high need of that lately. x_x

So, apart from someone throwing a beer bottle through my windshield Thursday, things have been fairly normal around here. Going insane thanks to classes, parents, and the two feet of snow we still have. Oh, and we're getting about 10-15" over the next couple of days. WTF, weather, this is NEW JERSEY, NOT BUMFUCK NORTHERN PARTS OF THE COUNTRY WHERE THEY'RE USED TO GETTING OVER 4 FEET OF SNOW IN A MONTH PERIOD.

Not much else to talk about apart from the fact that I'm slowly turning into a Kis-My-Ft2 fan, and I'm shamelessly dragging Jackie along with me. 8D Damn Twitter, making me pay attention to babies.

Normally, anything even remotely period-esque will send my costume senses tingling, but somehow I managed to miss the fact that the long sweater Aiba wears in the last scene of Pikanchi Double is an almost perfect Rococo jacket in knit. D: D:

I say 'in knit' rather than a knit jacket, because I think it was made from a knit fabric, rather than the panels being made to shape and sewn together. But that's not really the point of this.

THE POINT IS AIBA MASAKI IS WEARING AN ALMOST PERFECTLY CORRECT ROCOCO COAT AND I CAN PROVE IT. XD XD

Oh man, I really don't want to be productive today, but I really have to.

WHY DID MY MEGAUPLOAD ACCOUNT HAVE TO EXPIRE OVER THE WEEKEND? I SERIOUSLY DON'T LIKE THIS ONE-DOWNLOAD-AT-A-TIME THING.

So this morning I got en email from my school's emergency alert system saying that the water main broke and campus is closed today. Today, when I don't have any classes. >:O

But anyway.

My copies of 'My Girl' arrived either Friday or Saturday when I wasn't around, along with my copy of 'Arashogoto'. There are some really adorable pictures in it, and I've never seen the whole thing before, so I'll probably scan it in the near future. I didn't pay a lot for it, maybe $20 or so, and it's still in print, so I'll probably completely unbind it. It's a hardcover book, which will make scanning it as is a pain.

Speaking of which, I seriously need to order the photobook for My Girl. I absolutely cannot forget to do that. D:

That coherence I promised yesterday? Totally not happening. I've got a killer headache, and thinking about my JE Hols story isn't helping. D: I'm just going to take some more Tylenol and hit the hay early.

I am dead tired, but I survived my crazy weekend! I might attempt coherence before my class tomorrow afternoon, otherwise definitely afterwards. Maybe.

Uh-oh, the drinking is starting XD

I'm watching the fancam from the Time tour, which has been sitting on my external for months, but I never watched because I have the real thing. That and the rough quality of the sound was a bit of a turn off.

(BTW, does anyone know if there are fancams from the One and Arashic tours? If someone can point me towards it, especially for One, I'll love you forever.)

I realize now that not watching this until know means I was missing out on just how pronounced Squish Butt is in the white pants they wore in the beginning. XD

So, I gave in and deleted some of my interests to make room for others. Stupid lj and it's 150 interest limit. >:O

Anyway, I want more icons too, but I'm kind of stuck until my account renews itself, and I'll only get three more anyway. Dear lj- I would totally buy more than just one set of the extra 100 icons if you would let me. Do you hear that? I'm offering money.

And you know what would be cool? A way to see which icons I use often, and which I haven't used, to make it easier to decide which to replace. And also because I'm curious to know which icon I use the most as well.

Bah, my knee hurts for unknown reasons and I'm just killing time before my friend gets here once she finishes work. I also think I'm going to put fuchsia streaks in my hair again later tonight, when the ammonia smell won't bother anyone else. I haven't done that in probably about four years now, but I found a thing of the dye I used for it the other day, and I feel like making a change. If I get around to it, I just might post a picture of myself up here for the first time. XD

Oh yes. I was watching Haruna Ai's first appearance on Shukudaikun, and oh man. It was before she'd gotten her teeth fixed, which means her smile was slightly busted looking. I admit to giggling slightly at that. Sorry, Ai-chan. To make up for that, I'm going to make myself a few more icons of you.

This weekend is going to be crazy for me, and just might break my daily posting schedule.

I'm leaving for Arlington around 2am tonight. I'll be there Friday night, then Saturday morning I'm driving home to go up to New York and see Talk Like Singing. Then Sunday I'm driving back to Arlington to hang out at AnimeUSA for a few more hours, before driving back home again. This is my determination to not miss either the convention or the show. Of course, it's my own fault for having the wrong weekend written down for AUSA, and double planning my time. XD

But yes, if I disappear for a while, you'll know why.

Anyway, having discarded ideas 1, 1.5, and 2 for my JE Hols story, I'm feeling quite good about idea 3, and actually have what I feel is a good start to it going. Here's hoping this idea doesn't fizzle out like idea 2 did. XD (Ideas 1 and 1.5 will still get written, just later, when I can devote the proper amount of time to them. I also haven't forgotten my boast of having the awesomest Sakumoto idea either. After JE Hols, I swear.)

Poo on five sentences, I'll just talk about them.
If it wasn't already obvious, both wallpapers are of the same place from different angles. This is the Cloisters in New York, from when I visited it back in July. Absolutely gorgeous place, and I really want to go back again. There were several surprisingly young school groups there, so I didn't really take as much time as I would have liked to look at some of the stuff. I mean really, who takes kindergardeners to museums of medieval art? (You can kind of see one such group in the smaller cap.)

But anyway, there are my wallpapers. XD

Okay, so my last few posts have been rather... concise, to put it nicely. XD But I had a big project due for my Monday morning class and didn't really have my usual amount of time (or energy) to babble.

But not today! Today I have nothing else do do until I meet up with some friends after they get done with work and hang out at a diner. Earlier I was productive and took my modern art history midterm and got a 94, go me!

Anyway, I mentioned Saturday that I went to Kinokuniya before the concert and picked up some magazines. One of them was Freecell with Jun's librarian/Godfather photoshoot. And fuck, that magazine is huge! It's about 10" wide and 14" tall. That's almost twice the size of say, Wink Up and Duet. It only just fit in the messenger bag I had with me. XD I have to say, I'm glad someone else already scanned it, because it would be impossible for me.

Speaking of which,

katmillia, you're awesome for scanning the Pikanchi book. I've been wanting it for a while now, and this didn't help. XD

Which also reminds me, I never finished scanning the Mei-chan no Shitsuji photobook. And I need to order the My Girl photobook too. D:

Now to be productive again and work on my

Err, yeah. Ao no Honoo was great, though knowing how it would end beforehand (grr, I seriously hate being spoiled for stuff like this) meant I didn't really get as emotional over the story as I did with Smile, for example. Jun as Vito made me bawl like a baby for about an hour and a half. This I was chewing on my knuckles for a bit, but no crying.

BUT YEAH, EVEN MORE TERRIFIED OF NINOMIYA CUT-A-BITCH KAZUNARI NOW.

Oh, and because multiple people asked me my opinion on Haikei, Chichiue-sama and Yasashii Jikan, I'll just ( put it here )

Okay, going to bed now. :D:D And tomorrow, err... today, after I wake up, I'll have to remember to update my drama list again. And maybe add a movie list.

Okay, so I got distracted talking to a friend, and only just started watching Ao no Honoo. And oh god, I'm only a few minutes in but I can't stop giggling about how high Nino's voice sounds. I'm a horrible person, I know.

I think I'm getting a cold. My chest hurts and I've lost most of my voice, which means I sound very interesting at the moment. XD There's also a tropical storm and/or a noreaster that will be depositing 2-4" of rain over the next couple of days.

Due to this feeling crappy, I've spent the day in bed, doing, you guessed it, not my homework. XD Over the last week I've been watching Haikei, Chichiue-sama, and last night I finished it. Today, in keeping with the Nino theme, I marathoned Yasashii Jikan. Next up is Ao No Honoo, which will probably be the last thing in my current Nino marathon. That and I don't have anything else of his downloaded that I haven't watched yet, and should instead focus on some of the other things I do have downloaded.

So, now for Ao No Honoo, which will be quite different from the two dramas I just watched. XD

Okay, Nino speaking French with a Japanese accent? SERIOUSLY FUCKING ADORABLE.

My other lj, which is almost six and a half years old now, has about 320 posts. This journal, which is only six and a half MONTHS old, has 290 posts. XD I guess you can say Arashi has been rather inspirational to me, and got me actually participating in the general side of fandom again, not just randomly writing fics and posting them, without really talking to anyone else.

Thanks Arashi, for pulling me out of my hermit-like lj state. XD

What if I have more than 150 interests? What then, lj?

Last night I discovered how to make Cubism and Picasso less intolerable. My solution? Whip out JunPod and listen to Kanjani8 instead of my professor's lecture.

Every class he hands out a set of papers with everything we need to know on a given artist and style, then will for two and a half hours turn off all the lights and go through slides. It's horrible, and boring, and since the only light is from the projector, it's next to impossible to do anything. And he'll sit in the very back by the projector and yell at anyone that has their cellphone or whatnot out, so I can't even bring Aibattei with me to work on other stuff. One class my friends and I left after he started the slides and when to Wawa, then sat in the hallway outside the lecture hall and worked on a project we had for a different class until not long before the end of class, because that's when the professor will take attendance. I seriously hate this class.

On a different note, and because my dorkery knows no bounds, I've started knitting a Juntoshiba scarf. XD I'm doing a blue/green/blue/purple stripe pattern. Once I get a bit further into it, I'll share pictures.

Hmm... I think that's all I need to say at the moment. XD

Time to 'fess up. Who else has been listening to 'Tokei Jikake no Umbrella' on repeat? XD

If they don't perform this somewhere on TV I'll be super disappointed. I mean, it's bad enough they didn't do a PV for it, they could at least perform it for us, right?

I knew it. I knew if I ventured any further into ~~crack~~fandom than I already had, I'd get hooked, and yup, last night it happened. (It's all

o_e_subs's fault, seriously. All I needed to hear was 'prank', and that was it.)

So today I went on a mini downloading spree, since Aibattei doesn't like downloading more than a couple files at the same time, and yeah...

So this now makes three Johnny's groups I have more than a passing interest in, and I feel confident in saying that they're the only band that came after Arashi that I'll follow. But really, how could I say no to short shorts and cowboy boots? (And the best part? The lyrics for this song are rather appropriate for how I feel about this whole thing. XD)

Now I just need to find music downloads.

I don't know if I'm more confused by Aiba being the only one not goofing off here, or Nino's very tight purple pants.

But oh god, seeing dorky!Jun is just the cutest thing ever.

PS- Oh Jun, you and your dorky crush on your dorky bandmate is a adorable. Also, you make me feel so masculine sometimes. XD

I just had the awesomest idea for a Sakumoto story, but it has to wait until after I write my JE Hols fic. D: But I might be bad and look up a couple of things I'll need to know before I can write it, just because.

... but I'm nodding off at my keyboard.
