Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?
There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.
This Week's Question: What do you wish you could get right first time, every time?
If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.
I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Also discovered that the garden had overflowed the concrete path by about 8 inches (20cm) so I had to scrape everything back where it belongs. It's still overlapping in a few other places, but those will have to wait a bit.

I tinked back on that scarf to fix a mistake & then knitting another row or so. So I'm about where I started but without the mistake.

finished the color I was working on on the Forever Project, which means I'm once more facing how horrible the symbols on this pattern are as I highlight the next one
... although the real hell is going to start on the color after because I start running into the symbols that have nearly identical twins :|

part of the problem is it uses honestly way too many colors, so the symbols are A-Z, a-z (minus lower case L for a single mercy) and 0-9
I've been going through the numbers to start, and am up to 8 now, but in highlighting 8 I'm realizing that the difference between 9 and g in this font is the SMALLEST of nubbs on the g, which is possibly even worse than trying to figure out if I'm looking at a z or a Z (my next challenge after 9)

Sounds like you might need to use a magnifying glass!

but like... I bought this in 2002 judging from the date on the pattern cover, and I think the person selling it put exactly 0 effort into it, they just ran a small jpg through a pattern program and sold the result as-is
like, I'm stitching jpeg artifacts, there's WAY too many colors, and the symbol choices are Bad
I'm just too stubborn to give up on it even if I take many-year-long breaks lol
