Anybody in here?...
I just discovered this community after a quick search (a friends' thread was discussing garbage-picking finds), and figured there had to still be life in the old girl...
Several weeks ago I hauled this beast out of the garbage after a thunderstorm. After a few days drying out it seems fine...
Yes, a fully functional iMac, albiet, not an especially new one. I also picked up a Magnavox 15" flatscreen monitor/tv, but it needs a little electronics repair.
So what did I find this past week? a much newer and in better condition iMac, fully loaded.
The only thing wrong with this one that I can tell is that there's a CD stuck in the drive and the beast noisily and repeatedly attempts to eject it. Reaching in with needlenose pliers should fix that.
The same day I picked up a metal Detector...
Holy 1980! The needle gauge is jammed, but fresh batteries proved that this machine is still fully functional.
The next "bulk garbage day" of any note in the area is May 7th. I'm sure I'll find something worth picking up...
