Assorted MLK assembly thingumses

So the New York State Senate declared the friday of this year's Keeping The Dream Alive assembly, um, they declared it Mrs. Irene McVay Day. I do hope I got her name correct.
So that's a vast honour for her.

In other news, you know how Mr. Gearing always plays Bruce Springsteen's "No Surrender" every year at said assembly?
I decided this was far too awesome a song, so I of course went out and downloaded it.
And compared to Mr. Gearing's version, the Springesteen version is crap. I mean, what the heck?

So, anyway, I do wish I had an mp3 of Mr. Gearing performing "No Surrender".
But I doubt any such thing exists.
Sigh.

worst post ever...

On November 13th, Derick Zinnerstrom, CHS alumnus from the class of '98 and love of my life...hell, I'll go ahead and say fiance...passed away. I don't know if anyone here remembers him, but he was one of a kind, and is missed desperately. I was going to move back to Buffalo, we would live together and finish our degrees there, move to Vancouver and adopt kids...get married somewhere in there...nobody saw this coming. I won't ramble about this here, I've done that enough in my journal. I guess I just wanted to let everyone know.
