Hyoton (ひょうとん, Hyouton?, lit. Unleashed Ice), also known as Frost, is an ability in the Final Fantasy series. It is a Ninjutsu spell that inflicts ice-elemental damage.

Final Fantasy IV
Frost is a Ninjutsu spell exclusive to the 3D versions, learned by Edge at level 60. It deals moderate Ice damage to all enemies for 20 MP, with a casting time of 3.
Final Fantasy IV: The After Years
Frost is a Ninjutsu spell that creates destructive ice that damages enemies. It can be learned by Edge (level 45) and Izayoi (level 42).
Final Fantasy XI
The Ninja learns three different levels of Hyoton abilities. Hyoton: Ichi is learned at level 15, Hyoton: Ni at level 40, and Hyoton: San at level 75. Each Hyoton ability does ice-elemental damage and lowers the target's resistance to fire damage. Both effects increase in efficiency with the level of the Hyoton ability used.
Final Fantasy XIV
Hyoton is a Ninjutsu available to Ninjas at Level 35. Its combination is Ten→Jin or Chi→Jin. Hyoton deals 140 ice-elemental damage to a target, binding the target for 15 seconds and cancelling auto-attacks.
In PvP, Hyoton replaces Jugulate after executing Three Mudra. It delivers ice-elemental damage to a target with a potency of 1,000 and binds the target for 4 seconds. It also resets the Shukuchi recast timer.
