Wow.... ok... I know the game has been out for months and months... but I just recently obtained it and I must say AWESOME! (Don;t worry... even though most have probably already beaten or come close to it, I won;t give and mild spoilers)
The new control system is kinda annoying at first... but I quickly got used to it. Love the characters... but not being able to control the guest of the party is annoying as hell! Especially to a control freak such as my self =^_^= I would Highly recommend said game (at least to those who enjoyed the playing style of Final fantasy Tactics games)
Hi i'm a newbie here, i just joined in, i was just wondering, can i actually request songs? like ost i mean - i've been dying to get some of FFVII AC ost... please let me know if i am able or not able to request OST ...
I've lately been pondering the question of the nature and origin of the defining characteristics of the Final Fantasy series. What is it really that ties these games together when their casts and plots are in virtually every case entirely unrelated? What is it specifically that seperates them from many similar console rpgs?
Is it just the superficial motiffs (moogles, airships)? Repeated item/weapon/spell/monster naming schemes? Big budgets, glossy presentation, well-crafted visual/audio content?
The first game was really not much more than a moderately stylized AD&D 2nd Ed. simulator. When did FF acquire these defining attributes?
More information on Final Fantasy XII has come to light thanks to some recent propaganda for the game featured in Japanese magazine Famitsu.
The most recent issue introduces a type of item known as "Maseki." The Maseki is a powerful substance which functions as the source of all magical energy in the world of Ivalice, allowing for many uses in the daily lives of the inhabitants of the world. This source of power comes in many different types, and appears to play a role in the story of Final Fantasy XII; it is mentioned that a treasure which the game's hero, Vaan, seeks to steal from an unnamed castle is a rare type of Maseki.
Final Fantasy XII will be released in Japan on March 16th, 2006. Though it's confirmed for a North American release, no specific date has been named yet. Gamers will be able to get an early taste of Final Fantasy XII on November 22nd, 2005, when a playable demo of the game ships with Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King.
Hello all. I'm a long-time video game enthusiast with a healthy appreciation for the Final Fantasy line. The series has been a very signicant influence on console rpg's move away from dungeons and dragons simulators, which as a table-top role-player who's very much fed up with D&D I'm quite grateful for.
I've finished: 1, 2, 4, and 6 I've gotten through most of: 3, 5, and 7 I've played a little of: 8 and 10 I'm currently playing a game of FF9 and I've just started the third CD. I've seen 10-2 played but haven't tried it myself.
As for FF-associated products I'm a big fan of Tactics and Crystal Chronicals. I've also come by the fairly obscure FF: Mystic Quest (handful of interesting ideas, but somewhat below par overall). I've seen Kingdom Hearts played on a few occasions, but haven't played it myself.
I've found all the associated TV shows/ OAV's/ films to be pretty poor with the exception of the passable FF: Unlimited. Not to be prematurely judgemental, but Advent Children looks like an over-blown fighting-game anime. I frankly think the folks over at Square-Enix could spare to spend a little less time with their CGI machines, but that's neither here nor there.
I'd rank the games in the following order: 6, 9, 5, 3, 4, 1, 2, 7, 10, 8, 10-2
So I've seen Auron in screenshots for Kingdom Hearts II. I heard news of Tifa and Vincent possibly appearing, with Cloud returning in his Advent Children outfit. Are there any other confirmed FF characters making an appearance?
I am probable not the hugest FF fan in the world (I used to think I was, until recently) I've played FF 1, 2, Tactics Final Fantasy VII, VIII, X and X-2 and I have to say my favorite is a close tie between 7 and 10. I just can't wait for FF XII to come out and I hope its as good or better then its predecessors
