Dear Spring Equinox 2018 Letter

This is my first time participating in Equinox and I'm so excited! I couldn't resist mythology as a theme- I'm way too much a nerd for it. Here are some details about my requests, but if nothing speaks to you about the specifics, go ahead and just make whatever vid speaks to you. I'm sure I'll love it. I don't have anything I particularly dislike in vids, except that I'm not as interested in vids that just repeat the plot of the source without adding much too it.
Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001)
This movie is so fun, and has some gorgeous animation and worldbuilding. I'd love something focusing on the world and mythology of Atlantis itself. I love Kida and her dedication to her people and her world. Something about the team of rag-tag adventurers would also be great, they're all such hilarious character types.
Stargate (1994)
I love this movie, and I'd be happy with anything about it really. The Egyptian mythology is super cool, especially the fusion of it with alien technology, but something character focused or story focused would be interesting. There are a lot of good themes about overthrowing oppression and empowering people to rise up. But also, it's space ridiculousness, so feel free to just have fun. (I have also had a crush on Ra since I was a kid but whatever :D)
Thor: Ragnarok (Film)
Oh god, just have complete fun making this one. This was the most ridiculous over-the-top movie, so something silly exploring all the weird alienness of Sakaar would be entertaining, but something more character-focused and hijinx-y would be cute. I love everyone's faces, though Valkyrie has definitely won my heart. If you wanted to go more dark and intense with Hela and all the family angst that's going on, that'd also be awesome.
The Babadook (2014)
This movie was utterly terrifying and enthralling- the tension and claustrophobia were so impressive, and I love how clever it is allegorically. Feel free to make something as creepy as you want and really lean into the horror of it. No lie, I wish I could make a vid to this but I think I'm too scared to go through the source material so deeply, but I'd still love to be freaked out by something. But also, if you're dreaming of something crack-y and completely genre-different, or wanted to play into the Gay Icon Babadook phenomena, I'd also love it.
Descendants (Disney Movies)
I love all of these terrible children, they are all such monsters and have such great character arcs emotionally. The visuals in the movies are also great- the colors and costumes and hair and sets have such a great aesthetic. You could do something dance-y, drama-y, strange, silly.
Once Upon a Time (TV)
I really enjoyed the first two seasons of this show, and no lie haven't watched much beyond that, but I would totally accept a vid of whatever you feel passionate about. Convince me of your ship, dig into your terrible fave, play with the worldbuilding and character archetypes, whatever inspires you. I will say, I love Regina, Regina has my whole heart, she is so terrible and great. Also I wasn't super keen on some of the whinier dude characters. But if you wanna sell me on it, I'd be happy to see it.
