It's Turnabout Serenade week (the dates of the concert/court case from Ace Attorney 4 case 3), and I don't have any fic written for it! (In my defense, it's because I've been so busy writing the sequels to the follow-up I already wrote to that case. Sonata is my "look how much I love Turnabout Serenade" fic, it's a tough act to follow.)
I could always polish up and post the missing scene from until I bring you home on AO3, and maybe pick a Klavier/Daryan kink meme prompt to fill. I need sleep before I do any of that, but come on, it's my favorite Ace Attorney case, it'd be really nice to do something. (Also I think my neighbors are finally out of fireworks, so maybe I can stop staying up until 3 AM now.)

I think I have an idea for the new
fan_flashworks challenge now. If I get my things packed quickly enough, I might still have the time to write it now. I'm not sure how much time I'll have in the following days. Tomorrow I'll be on the train for 2.5h and I'll have to do some emergency shopping to make sure I can survive the next two days of work. Since I have 12 hour shifts, I doubt I'll have the energy to write, but then, who knows? I might. :)
I went to buy some packing tape from our local office supplies store and the lady gave me a free box to ship my things with. I put it on the way earlier, but it was a hassle. The parcel machine decided I should use the large door on the top. I'm not supposed to do much physical labour yet, so this was probably just the universe telling me to go fuck myself again. But it was just somewhat uncomfortable and my healing wounds are still intact. I'm also 164 cm tall, so it was all tippy toes too. Thank goodness I could reach it at all. Life is not kind to us hobbits.

So yesterdayโs intent was to go to town, see A Perfect Life, then Bleach and Backrooms. So letโs see how that went.
Before I went through The Mandalorian And Grogu soundtrack finally came, yipee! Strnage lc though the physical disc has one less track than Spotify does which I didnโt notice until I ripped it this morning.
The trip to town went ok. I went a lil early to check if the co-op by the station had the mandalorian drinks cause I saw they were on offer but alas they just had the fruit shoots and the Robinsons cordials (which I may stoke up on the mango one is really nice)
In town I didnโt do much, just popped in Poundland then went straight to the cinema.
Trailers for A Private Life
Wild Horse Nine: Looks like it could be funny but Iโm not sure itโs something Iโd watch
Camp Miasma: I was sold on this the moment Gillianโs character said โthereโs a whole at the bottom of the lake where the films come fromโ so glad it has a date
There was a music thing I missed the title of
Tony: something about the life of Anthony Bourdain, looks like it could be pretty good, again, not sure Iโd see it myself
( Read more... )
About two thirds of the way through my right eye started aching so I spent the back half of it with my eye closed or covered up. That was fine to finish off something but not upideal to watch a whole other thing, thankfully I just got the ticket for A Private Life, cause there was an hour ago between it and Bkeach I intended to use for lunch then come back.
So instead I left, popping in Aldi to kill time before getting on the train home. Of course the train had issues too. It stopped at the station before home and stayed there for over 10 minutes without explanation.
I donโt mind that much that I didnโt see Bleach, cause Iโm sure Iโd be lost, but I might be able to see Backrooms cause it has been extended a few days next week. (Though I am hoping to do Minions And Monsters/Evil Dead Burn and The Odyssey next week.) I do wanna get the Moana cup the cinema is getting for mum, cause one topper is Heihei so 8 wanna get it before we see it (if we do) cause she loves him for some reason.
Once home I pretty much flopped, watched Castle, did some two point hospital (badly) and then waited for The Pale Horse to come on sky mix. It was an ok adaption and one of those things were you were spotting people. There was Louise Jameson and Jean Marsh among others. Plus there was one guy I couldnโt place, I recognised his voice but couldnโt place him cause of his glasses. Then he took them off and I saw it was Andy Serkis. I guess Clark Kent just wearing glasses isnโt a bad disguise as people think.
I didnโt do much after it. I yapper to a friend, did a little gaming but the call cut out then my eyes went achy so I just went up to bed.
This morning after putting the soundtrack on my laptop, then pod thing, I watched a Heated Rivalry ep (I meant to last night). The rest of the day is gonna be waiting on the food shop, then Seapeekayโs subathon and thenโฆ Who knows.

I talked previously about a new online writing software/word processor called Skrib. I have since tried it out. What I liked about it was the search function, being able to toggle between documents from the sidebar, and having the planning/brainstorming board right there alongside my draft. However, I decided it's not for me based on a suggested edits feature that will literally give you suggestions for what to do with your sentences. Skrib purports to be anti-Gen AI and granted, the editorial suggestions feature isn't generating sentences. But telling you what you can do with your sentences comes too close and makes me uncomfortable. I know people use Grammarly or ProWritingAid for the same thing, but I personally don't like it. And it's not useful to me. My editing process is very gut-checky and vibes-based.
So I'm going to stick to Ellipsus. They've recently introduced a premium plan on top of their free one. Their free plan is great: I can have all the projects/documents I want and sync them to the cloud automatically, which covers the basics for me. And I can use timers, focus mode, and add collaborators. The premium plan introduces custom themes and something opt-in called 'emboss' which is like your writing fingerprint (it shows how many sessions you wrote the document in, typing speed, and other stuff meant to show you wrote it yourself, without using AI checkers). I'm irritated that our writing tools now are having to help writers prove they didn't use AI.

asuraid - Which fictional character do you want to put through a blender (lovingly/hatingly) and why? (I say this as someone who has a beloved character I adore and my love language for him is wishing he'd covered in his own blood) -

Oops, I missed a week, but I'm back with music...
First up, another Highway 101 track. The steel guitar and drums at the end are fantastic. I love the twang of a steel guitar.
Next, the Kentucky Headhunters with one of their quieter numbers.
Waylon & Willie always sound great together.
Whatever happened to Gail Davies?
One of my favourite Jimmy Buffett Tracks from one of my favourite albums.
Radney Foster, one half of Foster & Lloyd.
Can't believe I've got this far through the alphabet without any Ty Herndon. Here a track from one of my all time favourite albums.
Finally, an instrumental, the fiercest version of Jerusalem Ridge I've ever heard.
And that's it for this week. Hope someone will find something they like among these.

Now that Duq’arael has been brought back into the spotlight thanks to Camille’s story in Endfield, I think it's worthwhile to have a closer look at the motivation he displays throughout the story of Arknights. Endfield shows to the reader in-universe information that mentions that Duq’arael killed his older brother Danso. Let’s have a closer look at the circumstances that led to this incident. It is true that by killing Danso Duq’arael got a hold on the Blood of Tekaz, but it is important to keep in mind that Duq’arael never wanted to have the black crown. He killed his brother because in his eyes Danso was bringing a false peace and Duq’arael, who had lived through real and actual peace, only wanted to have the real thing instead of a sad imitation. The Black Crown would have been his to take when he killed Danso, but he actively rejected it because he hates everything connected to the crown. Taking power that comes with a system he fundamentally disagrees with was something he never wanted.
