Ray is too hyped up on adrenaline and the craziness of the day to notice how much his ear is hurting. It's only later at home after he and Fraser have cleared Vecchio's name and arrested yet another bad guy that he notices.

He heads into his apartment walking ahead of Fraser wondering if he can distract the Mountie for long enough so he can find some painkillers and a hot shower.

"Sit down, Ray."

Shoulda known that Fraser would see through him.

Ray sits and Fraser passes him a glass of water and two small white pills.

"Thanks." Ray swallows the pills and groans. "Shower now."

There's a frown on Fraser's face but Ray's ear is hurting and he really doesn't feel up to Mountie interpretation.

"What?"

"You shouldn't shower, Ray. Not until the dressing comes off."

Ray grins, he can't help it. He puts his head to one side and looks up at Fraser. "Okay. So how are you at sponge baths?"
