Even after so long, Ryo still feels himself start to melt whenever Dee kisses him, but what used to baffle and annoy him back before he accepted that he was gay, and attracted to his work partner, now makes him lean in closer, returning his lover’s kisses.

“You still make my knees go weak when you kiss me,” he admits, and Dee grins,

“And you still take my breath away. That’s never gonna change.”

This is the way love should be, Ryo knows. Two people who still feel the same thrill when they kiss that they felt the first time, who still want each other as much as when they first got together, who still don’t want anyone else.

It’s why they’ve lasted so long, why they’ve never been tempted to stray, because when you already have the perfect person, you know you’ll never find anyone who understands you the way your lover does, who accepts everything about you and still loves you.

It isn’t always perfect, they still have fights and misunderstandings, but when the anger is gone, the love remains. Then they apologise, melt into each other’s arms, and the argument is forgotten. Love is all that matters.
