Private Lucky is a U.S. Army military working dog in Fallout 76, introduced in the Wastelanders update.

Background

Private Lucky is the last surviving member of a U.S. Army canine team formerly composed of himself, Angel, and Odysseus. These military working dogs served alongside former United States Armed Forces soldiers Captain Oliver Fields, Sergeant Radcliff and their trainer Sergeant Thompson, and played a vital role in the team's escape from Pittsburgh sometime after the Great War, though not without injury.

While Lucky was a puppy, Sergeant Thompson trained him by clicking a Nuka-Cola bottlecap as a reward rather than using treats. As a result, Lucky now treats the clicking sound of a bottle cap as a positive stimulus.
