Power Armor is a type of armor found across the Fallout Series.
Background[edit]
Worn by various factions in the wasteland, Power Armor is made of a poly-laminate composite, shielding the user from radiation and damage while providing increased strength.[1][2] The armor is a pre-War product of West Tek in conjunction with the United States government.[3] The armor was developed at Fort Strong, utilized in both China and at the Battle of Anchorage.[4][5][6][7]
Worn by Brotherhood knights, power armor shields the user from damage while providing increased strength.[8] Those who utilize the armor benefit have the ability to survive for weeks without water, and protection from radiation damage if the suit remains airtight.[9][10][11] Some suits could undergo a special chemical hardening process.[12]
The power armor prototypes were slated to be part of an exhibit at the Museum of Technology in 2078.[13] Harold Frost, one of T-45's original designers, designed the Excavator Power Armor for the Garrahan Mining Company.[14] Following the Great War, many suits are still found throughout the wastelands, providing those who wear them additional protection from threats.[5] Stripping out the joint servos removes the need for special training.[15]
Gameplay[edit]
The armor is described as being hard-wearing, created with lightweight metal alloys, reinforced with ceramic castings at key points.[16][Pub 1] Mark II was created with lightweight ceramic composites that provide more protection than Advanced Power Armor.[17][18] The armor utilized by the Enclave, also referred to as Advanced Mark II and Advanced Power Armor Mark II,[19][20][21] some of which have the faction's insignia on the front and rank on the side.[22][23] The Chosen One mentions that the power armor recycles urine.[24]

Hellcat Power Armor | The crafting plans are automatically unlocked upon completing The Catalyst. Legendary Hellcat parts may be crafted, obtained as quest rewards or purchased from the Purveyor. They will not drop from Legendary enemies. | Fallout 76
|
| Hellfire Power Armor | Hellfire Armor was created by the Enclave after the Great War at Adams Air Force Base.[32] The Hellfire initiative received diverted assets from the canceled Duraframe Eyebot project.[33][34] It was subsequently worn by Enclave Hellfire Troopers and Enclave Squad Sigma.[Pub 2][Pub 3] | Fallout 3 Fallout: New Vegas Fallout 4 Fallout 76

| T-51 Power Armor | A pre-War product of West Tek in conjunction with the United States government, T-51 power was created using a poly-laminate composite.[39][40] Features include a back-mounted TX-28 MicroFusion Pack, HiFlo hydraulic system, and the shell is capable of absorbing over 2500 Joules of kinetic impact.[41] The Power Armor's coating is comprised of 10 micron silver, serving to reflect laser and radiation emissions without damage to the composite subsurface.[42][43]
Described as the "pinnacle of mechanized protection before the Great War," the armor was developed at Fort Strong, utilized in both China and at the Battle of Anchorage.[4][5] Suits sent to Anchorage required additional effort to adapt to the cold climate.[6][44] |

It provides the second-highest protection against radiation after the Strangler Heart Power Armor. As with all other bullion-exclusive items, the plans and individual pieces of T-65 power armor are non-tradeable. | Fallout 76
|
| |
Ultracite Power Armor | The Brotherhood in Appalachia attempted to construct this variant of power armor, but was unable to.[52] This was due to the difficulty in acquiring the necessary components. The Lost Hills chapter likewise never produced any of these suits, as satellites failed, preventing further communications, and the Ultracite needed for the suit was a resource unique to the Appalachia area.[53] | Fallout 76

"Posted to previously unknown and highly secretive locations outside of the Capital Wasteland, only the most veteran of Enclave forces trained in multiple forms of combat earn the right to call themselves Sigma. These six-person squads feature a leader clad in Hellfire Armor and carrying an Incinerator, and each man in has seen numerous combat sorties and lived to tell about them. Sigma Squads are posted around locations deemed by Enclave high command as "imperative" to the salvation of the cause, so whenever you encounter Sigma Squads, you know something vital to the Enclave is close by." - ↑ Fallout 3 Official Game Guide Game of the Year Edition p.49: "ENCLAVE SOLDIER [SIGMA]"
"Supremely professional and battle-hardened, these six-man squads can prove to be troublesome, especially the leader armed with a Heavy Incinerator and Hellfire Armor. Use the tactics that have served you well in the past, or lob in a highly powerful Grenade (such as the Nuka Grenade) before the squad fans out to damage as many as possible."
