James Duncan was the co-owner of the Duncan & Duncan Robotics store in Summersville before the Great War.
Background[edit]
James owned the robotics store along with his twin brother Jonathan. The pair did not get along, and often quarreled over topics such as Jonathan's supposed obsession with the number 888888.[1] In truth, Jonathan had died of unspecified causes, and James had gone delusional, imagining his brother was still alive and interfering in their business - even reprogramming his Mister Handy servant Skinner when he questioned this.[2]
James' delusions grew to the point that he changed the code to the store's Assaultron showroom and blamed it on Jonathan, even hiring the Gramercy & Ulster law firm to find Jonathan and retrieve the new code. Unfortunately, men hired by the firm mistook James for his brother and caused an "altercation" for which the firm's partner William Ryan Gramercy had to personally apologize for.[3]
Before his death, James left Skinner in charge of the store and ordered him to not let any customers access the Assaultron showroom unless they were part of the United States Armed Forces.
Appearances[edit]
James Duncan is mentioned in Fallout 76, introduced in the Wastelanders update.
