You scored as Albus Dumbledore. You are very wise, observant, and analyctical. You have a very "well-organized" mind, which makes you function in a calm and fair manner. Though you get angered easily, its rare of you to ever act our of temper. You are constantly seeing the good in people and are naturally forgiving because of it. You're easy to please and a great person to learn from.

feeling the need

To get the hell out of here. But since I've lost my focus & can't seem to find somewhere that I'd make as much money as I do here--yes, with my bills, that's VERY important--I'm stuck. I'm enjoying my job right now, but I can already hear the screaming in the back of my head that says, "Leave now."
On a lighter note, I found out that the guy I stalked my sophmore year in college is living in the 'burb right next to one of my best friends....I think a trip to Chicago is in order :)

    discontent but not screaming yet.

It's been a long time.

Time just gets away. I promise I'm going to write in my journal, write anything, blog, etc... and it's been months since I've done any of it. That is, until this last week. I've finally made the time to sit down & look at some of what I've written. I'm still not satisfied.
On a side rant, I'm reviewing a low carb cookbook for LJ & the woman has the audacity to say that you'll never miss orange juice after trying this tomato juice cocktail. Hello? Since when does tomato juice taste like orange juice? I would NEVER use tomato juice to make a screwdriver (or orange juice to make a bloody mary for that matter). The 2 are totally separate in flavor, texture, color. That's not acceptible. Don't lie to the people who are trusting you to help them with their new diet!
And yet again from the files of the weird: on another site that I'm a member, there's a guy who has started a book conversation with me. No bad, but he seems to think there should be something else (I have that I'm there just to make friends & network). He's 23 & in Iraq, recently divorced. I have my age on this site. He's going to be home sometime & wants to try to meet up. I must be wearing the wrong sign again.
Ah well.

first day in the new job

And I didn't get to touch a computer until nearly 4:15. So I was actually productive today, putting labels on books (any wrong in the next few weeks are definitely my fault). Went swimming afterward & am absolutely exhausted, although that's more from lack of sleep last night I'm sure.

not really moving on....

My job is changing. I'm not leaving my current employer, but I'm moving to another department. I'm sure that everyone who knows me agrees that this is probably a good thing. I need to know be on a customer service desk for a while. It's safer for the public. But I really & truly love my closest coworkers. I will miss working with 3 of them (and the 4th as well sometimes). I will also miss some of the circulation staff, but I will be joining them on occassional Saturdays so we'll see how this works...working side by side with Coach could be rather scary.

A new year, a new attitude?

Well, that is supposed to be the case. I really need to be more optimistic. It's such a foreign state for me.
New Year's Eve was fun. I was with friends from college & a few new people were added to the mix. A good time was had by all. This wasn't a definite. I will be the first to admit, I didn't want to go. I wanted to stay in & read. It just seemed like a better idea at the time. But we went & had fun (although I do NOT recommend the DVD version of Trivial Pursuit unless you're a fan of NSYNC & then you won't be reading this anyway).
Sunday, I saw Spamalot. It was really really good. Tim Curry, David Hyde Pierce & Hank Azaria headed the cast. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. I wish I could see again. Maybe I will when it's touring--which I'm sure it will after Broadway.
And now, here I am, back at work already in need of a vacation. But optimism is the key. 2005 will be a good year. My nephew & goddaughter will both learn to walk. They personalities are already becoming apparent & I'm looking forward to watching them grow. I need them to remind me that good things do happen. And it's always possible that I'll have another nephew (or perhaps a niece) on the way by the end of this year. If my other brother convinces my wife of that, I'm sure I will.
