A featured topic (FT) is a collection of inter-related articles in which at least half are featured articles or featured lists. The remaining articles must be at least good quality.

A good topic (GT) is a collection of inter-related articles that are of a good quality (though are not necessarily featured articles) with a less stringent quality threshold than a featured topic.

This page is for the nomination of potential featured and good topics. See the featured and good topic criteria for criteria on both types of topic.

Before nominating a topic, nominators may wish to receive feedback by listing it at the Featured and good topics talk page. Nominators must be sufficiently familiar with the subject matter and sources to deal with objections during the FTC/GTC process. If you nominate something you have worked on, note it as a self-nomination. Nominators who are not significant contributors to the articles of the topic should consult regular editors of the articles prior to nomination. Nominators are expected to respond positively to constructive criticism and to make an effort to address objections promptly.

The featured and good topics coordinators Aza24, MaranoFan and Kyle Peake determine the timing of the process for each nomination. For a nomination to be promoted to FT or GT status, consensus must be reached for a group to be promoted to featured or good topic status. If enough time passes without objections being resolved, nominations will be removed from the candidates topic and archived.

To contact the FGTC coordinators, please leave a message on the FGTC talk page, or use the {{@FGTC}} notification template elsewhere.

You may want to check previous archived nominations first:

Nomination procedure

edit

To create a new nomination use the form below (e.g., Wikipedia:Featured and good topic candidates/Saffron/archive1) and click the "Create new nomination" button.

Once the nomination page is created, remember to transclude it in the appropriate section below, to leave nomination templates on the talk pages of the articles nominated for the topic. For detailed instructions on how to nominate topics or add articles to existing topics, see Wikipedia:Featured and good topic candidates/Nomination procedure.

Supporting and objecting

edit

Please review all the articles of the nominated topic with the featured and good topic criteria in mind before deciding to support or oppose a nomination.

  • To edit nominations in order to comment on them, you must click the "edit" link to the right of the article nomination on which you wish to comment (not the overall page's "edit this page" link).
  • If you approve of a nomination, write '''Support''' followed by your reasons. Supports that clearly evaluate the criteria will be weighted more than those that do not.
  • If you oppose a nomination, write '''Oppose''' or '''Object''' followed by the reason for your objection. Each objection must provide a specific rationale that can be addressed. If nothing can be done in principle to fix the source of the objection, the objection may be ignored.
    • To withdraw an objection, strike it out (with <s>...</s>) rather than removing it.

For a topic to be promoted to featured or good topic status, consensus must be reached that it meets the criteria. The FGTC coordinators are usually the ones to assess this consensus and close FGTC discussions. If there is a consensus to promote, the promote instructions are located here. If enough time passes without objections being resolved (at least one week), nominations will be removed from the candidates list and archived. Nominations will stay here for ten days if there is unanimous consent, or longer if warranted by debate.

Ohuede dynasty

edit

The Ohuede dynasty was a short-lived ruling house in the late Ogiso era of Igodomigodo (the early state that preceded the Kingdom of Benin), lasting from c.1110 AD – c.1130 AD. It emerged after Ogiso ('king') Ehenneden died without an heir, leading the Edionnisen ('Great Nobles'), who were kingmakers that perform the legal duty of crowning a new Ogiso, to trace succession through collateral branches of the Oriagba line, leading to the accession of Ohuede from the Ihinmwirin lineage. His brief reign established guild-based agricultural organisation and reinforcement of hereditary succession rules. He was succeeded by Ogisos Oduwa, Obioye, Arigho, and Owodo. The dynasty reinforced the principle of primogeniture, but its period was mostly affected by political instability and economic decline. The dynasty collapsed following Owodo's deposition by the Edionnisen after accusations of grave misconduct, ending the Ohuede line and also contributing to the final dissolution of the Ogiso monarchy.

I am happy to nominate these series of 6 articles which I have extensively researched on and improved all to the GA status. Thank you for looking and considering. --Vanderwaalforces (talk) 00:51, 18 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

The North East Line is a high-capacity Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) line in Singapore. Operated by SBS Transit, the 20-kilometre (12 mi) line runs from HarbourFront station in southern Singapore to Punggol station in the northeast via Chinatown, Little India, Serangoon and Hougang. Completed at a cost of S$5 billion, the line began operating 14 of its 16 stations on 20 June 2003. Buangkok station opened on 15 January 2006, and Woodleigh station began operations on 20 June 2011. A one-station extension to Punggol Coast station was completed in 2024. Alstom rolling stock C751A, C751C and C851E – runs on the line, which is fully automated. The stations are wheelchair-accessible, and most are Civil Defence shelters designed to withstand airstrikes and chemical attacks. There are 19 artworks displayed across its 17 stations as part of the MRT network's Art-in-Transit programme.

Glad to nominate this for good topic for this list of NEL stations. I reworked most of these articles, though a few were done by a few other users.--ZKang123 (talk · contribs) 11:29, 13 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. Might suggest changing "most are Civil Defence shelters" to "most double as Civil Defence shelters", but otherwise it seems a comprehensive writeup. I can't think of any obvious gaps, those which come to mind (rolling stock, depots, other infrastructure) extend beyond the North East Line topic and so are more wider MRT topics. Four more FAs to promote to FT. CMD (talk) 12:59, 13 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

The figure skating events at the 2026 Winter Olympics took place from 6 to 19 February at the Milano Ice Skating Arena in Milan, Italy. Medals were awarded in men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, ice dance, and the team event. Alysa Liu of the United States won the women's event, Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara of Japan won the pairs event, Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Guillaume Cizeron of France won the ice dance event, the team from the United States won the team event, and in what The New York Times called "one of the biggest upsets in figure skating history", Mikhail Shaidorov of Kazakhstan won the men's event.

This series consists of seven articles: the main article; one article each for the men's event, the women's event, the pairs event, the ice dance event, and the team event; plus the qualification. All of the articles have been promoted to GA. Special thanks to User:ZooBlazer and User:Arconning, who did the GA reviews. Bgsu98 (Talk) 21:21, 10 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Yongle Emperor

edit

The Yongle Emperor (simplified Chinese: 永乐帝; traditional Chinese: 永樂帝; pinyin: Yǒnglè Dì) was the third emperor of the Ming dynasty, reigning from 1402 to 1424. He was the fourth son of the Hongwu Emperor, the founder of the dynasty. In 1399, he rebelled against his nephew, the Jianwen Emperor, and launched a civil war known as the Jingnan campaign, or the "campaign to clear away disorders". After three years of intense fighting, he emerged victorious and declared himself emperor in 1402. The reign of the Yongle Emperor is often described as the "second founding" of the Ming dynasty, reflecting the major changes he introduced to his father's political system. He was succeeded by his eldest son, the Hongxi Emperor.

I am proud to present the Yongle Emperor as a Good Article topic. Recently, I successfully nominated the article on the Yongle Emperor for Good Article status, along with several related articles. I would also like to thank Cold Season for the articles Ming treasure voyages and Yongle Emperor's campaigns against the Mongols, as well as Векочел and Coeusin for reviewing my work. Wolf-class gunboats

edit

For the last year and a half or so, I've been working on a GT on all of the gunboats built (or otherwise acquired) by the German navies from the 1850s through WWII (as listed out here), and this will be one of the subtopics that will keep the overall topic at a manageable size. All four articles passed GA reviews last year, so this topic should be in pretty good shape. Thanks to all who take the time to look it over. Parsecboy (talk) 12:17, 22 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Doctor Who series 15

edit

The fifteenth series of the British science fiction television programme Doctor Who aired on BBC One and Disney+ from 12 April – 31 May 2025. It is the second and final series to feature both Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson, the only to feature Varada Sethu, and is the final eight of twenty-six episodes of the show to be produced under a co-production deal with Disney. Preceded by a Christmas special on 25 December 2024 starring Nicola Coughlan, the series follows a loose story-arc about an abducted nurse who wishes to return home. Filmed back-to-back with the fourteenth, it is the sixth series to be showrun by Russell T Davies, and the second after his return to the programme in 2023. Although the future of the show was uncertain for a period following the series' conclusion, further episodes were later announced.

The final article in this proposed good topic was finally promoted after nearly a year, so I am more than happy to bring this here. If promoted, this would be a subtopic of Wikipedia:Good topics/List of Doctor Who episodes (2005–present). Thank you for your consideration, TheDoctorWho (talk) 17:53, 21 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Support I reviewed (and passed) all except one of these articles and they were/are all of very high quality. This definitely should be promoted as a Good Topic! DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 19:23, 21 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Support Great work! Would love to see some of these at FAC, they are all very high quality and I think a FT could be achieved here in the future. Crystal Drawers 🎖️ (wanna talk?) 00:03, 22 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Support. The blurb above describes these as the “final eight”, but there are nine listed? Bgsu98 (Talk) 23:08, 10 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
From what I checked, the first is a Christmas special that doesn't count among the regular episodes. igordebraga 02:33, 12 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

The 2025 Indian Premier League, also known as IPL 18 and branded as TATA IPL 2025, was the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), a professional Twenty20 (T20) cricket league held in India, organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The tournament featured 10 teams competing in 74 matches. It began on 22 March and was held across 13 venues before being suspended on 9 May due to the 2025 India–Pakistan crisis. The matches resumed from 17 May across six venues, with the final rescheduled from 25 May to 3 June.

The defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders were eliminated in the league stage. In the final, Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Punjab Kings by 6 runs to win their maiden title after 18 years. Sai Sudharsan and Prasidh Krishna of Gujarat Titans scored the most runs (759) and took the most wickets (25) respectively. Suryakumar Yadav of Mumbai Indians was awarded as the most valuable player of the tournament.

Topic removal candidates

edit

2 Pallas was demoted on 10 February 2026, there is no effort to change that, and without it the topic fails criterion 3.b. (Additionally 10 Hygiea was also delisted shortly after.) Regards, Armbrust The Homunculus 06:41, 11 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Mother series

edit

On one point, Development of Mother 3 no longer exists, and thus should be removed. However, part of the merge discussion that saw this happen involved the recreation of EarthBound 64, which would be relevant, as it is a fork of Mother 3, and thus fails 1d (though with clarification that this was not an issue of cherrypicking but instead a new ddevelopment). Being that EarthBound 64's article is based on a >10 year old version and has myriad sourcing that needs implementing on the talk page, I believe that this topic should be delisted for the time being. - Cukie Gherkin (talk) 16:36, 28 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@Cukie Gherkin What would need to be done to get it up to the GA status? I'm currently busy with finals but in a few weeks' time I can probably get working on this. I'd hate to see an otherwise quality topic get demoted because of one article. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 19:29, 28 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I believe it'd need a full copyedit and the sources on the talk page (not ref ideas but a talk page section) need to be looked through to ensure that any info found within is included - Cukie Gherkin (talk) 22:20, 28 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
That is... a lot of sources. Shouldn't be impossible, though. I'll take it on but will keep you posted on my progress. Will let you know in a few weeks' time once I start. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 22:38, 28 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Edge (wrestler) was demoted on 12 January 2026, there is no effort to change that, and without it the topic fails criterion 3.b. Armbrust The Homunculus 22:50, 12 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
