Disambiguation link notification for March 21
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of largest law firms by revenue, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ashurst. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 07:58, 21 March 2025 (UTC)

Hello @Zdonaldb: I'm Quaerens-veritatem. Please provide a summary of every edit you make. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history. Summaries help other editors by (a) providing a reason for the edit, (b) saving the time to open up the edit to find out what it's all about, and (c) providing information about the edit on diff pages and lists of changes (such as page histories and watchlists). For where to add them, see How to add an edit summary. For help in adding them, see Help:Edit summary generally, and sections such as WP:FIES, WP:EDITSUMCITE, and WP:SUMMARYNO.
According to Wikipedia's consensus policy, all edits should be explained —either by clear edit summaries, or by discussion on the associated talk page. Edit summary content is visible in:
- User contributions
- Recent changes
- Watchlists
- Revision differences
- IRC channels
- Related changes
- New pages list
- Article editing history
Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit and a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing →
Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary.
As a reminder:
When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
If the edit is minor, the "This is a minor edit" box can be checked. See, Help:Minor_edit. A good rule of thumb is that only edits consisting solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearrangement of text without modification of the content may be flagged as minor edits.
Many who are ignorant of the Wikipedia policy on edit summaries fail to add them. Some ignore this basic brief task; however, failure seems inconsiderate specially since summaries are so easy to add. According to Wikipedia's consensus policy, all edits should be explained —either by clear edit summaries, or by discussion on the associated talk page. Thanks in advance for your use of summaries. Hello, I'm Johnj1995. I noticed that you recently removed all content from NCAA independent schools (lacrosse). Please do not do this. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. As a rule, if you discover a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If a page has been vandalised, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you wish to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Need for Gain / Loss for census estimate
editAs in this edit, why was the change from 2010 to 2020 removed? Why is it necessary to track changes in the census estimate, which is based on a small sample, for which data fluctuations are often significant and which is recalculated every year, even for previous year estimates? Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits to Thayer County, Nebraska when you modified the page, you introduced unknown parameters. Just because you specify |some_param=some_variable does not always mean that variable will display. The |some_param= must be defined in the template. You can look at the documentation for the template you are using but it is also helpful to use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and ensure that the values you have added are displaying correctly. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the page will look like without actually saving it. It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. Note I have likely fixed the error by now so check the history of the page to see how it was fixed. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance.

When you were adding content to the page, you added duplicate arguments to a template which can cause issues with how the template is rendered. In the future, please use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find these errors as they will display in yellow at the top of the page. Thanks.
