Kindly check these two discussions -
[1], [2], User:McKhan2 is particularly engaging these discussions as clear harassment and just accused of you being tagged there for Wikipedia:Canvassing. Meanwhile, that person tagged you first in the discussion along with Ekdalian to get support from previous editors who have edited my edits in edit summaries while not even checking discussion tagged as "Kalal POV pushing", where you advised to not push Kalal POV here but with context use where Ahluwalia caste is mentioned itself given two different identities. Now, they first accuse me of not letting Kalal mention there, meanwhile, that discussion suggests the opposite. Then they propose to edit the entire article but it has been well attributed and edited in the same way as they proposed.
After I keep hinting at their true opinion of BIAS and Harassment involving my edits by using analysis to gaslight and divert conversations and keep tagging you and Ekdalian, another editor who removed well sourced edits by just mentioning their pov in edit summaries.
It is a caste of varied origins, and "distinct social groups" as you said and should be kept like that but they think "only Kalal/Kalwar pov" is valid. I remember a few socpup-users who were banned for doing same tone edits like @Newworldruler [1] banned by admin @Discospinster. All the same, they engage in talk discussion doing similar stuff while acting as some core-policies fan. I am certainly not that much fan of such discussions Utcursch and would really love your attention and time on reading the discussions and please read my replies as well. Whatever I answer, the next reply carefully is cherrypicked with the words to again "gaslight." They are just so negatively directed with continuos misinterpretations starting from deviating my "note saying, I checked their edits again on the page after nearly a month" by saying that's a lie citing work prior to their such engagements and including your and others edit summaries and now accusing of CANVASS when I cited "KALAL POV PUSHING" to be read and not edit summaries to support their lame accusations.
Repeated warnings and continuous non-good faith replies by first accusing of stuff and then acting like they care and want to move forward by suggesting another misleading edits. After your guidance and Abecdare's as well on previous edits, my work is based on Wikipedia policies with keeping relevance in mind. All the topics are mentioned with sources, and if you find even a single line or two without sources, just let me know, I have bookmarked enough to add but given AirshipJungle... editors note to not overcite as they removed many references, I have limited them. Those conversations are diverting from one topic to another and to next to keep engaging in such deliberate misinterpretation attacks that appear to be subtle and personal.
I have nothing to add but just the discussion there and one-time checking the article which is well-quoted and sourced is enough as a reply. Thank you Utcursch, I am going offline and if they edit anything given their continuous harassment on contentious topics, I will check and respond to it later and do hope your attention there. - Following a request for comment, a new speedy deletion criterion, G15, has been enacted. It applies to pages generated by a large language model (LLM) without human review.
- Following a request for comment, there is a new policy outlining the granting of permissions to view the IP addresses of temporary accounts. Temporary account deployment on the English Wikipedia is currently scheduled for September 2025, and editors can request access to the permission ahead of time. Admins are encouraged to keep an eye on the request page; there will likely be a flood of editors requesting the permission when they realize they can no longer see IP addresses.

- Administrators can now restrict the "Add a Link" feature to newcomers. The "Add a Link" Structured Task helps new account holders get started with editing. Administrators can configure this setting in the Community Configuration page.

Guide to temporary accounts
editHello, Utcursch. This message is being sent to remind you of significant upcoming changes regarding logged-out editing.
Starting 4 November, logged-out editors will no longer have their IP address publicly displayed. Instead, they will have a temporary account (TA) associated with their edits. Users with some extended rights like administrators and CheckUsers, as well as users with the temporary account IP viewer (TAIV) user right will still be able to reveal temporary users' IP addresses and all contributions made by temporary accounts from a specific IP address or range.
How do temporary accounts work?
- When a logged-out user completes an edit or a logged action for the first time, a cookie will be set in this user's browser and a temporary account tied with this cookie will be automatically created for them. This account's name will follow the pattern:
~2025-12345-67(a tilde, year of creation, a number split into units of 5). - All subsequent actions by the temporary account user will be attributed to this username. The cookie will expire 90 days after its creation. As long as it exists, all edits made from this device will be attributed to this temporary account. It will be the same account even if the IP address changes, unless the user clears their cookies or uses a different device or web browser.
- A record of the IP address used at the time of each edit will be stored for 90 days after the edit. Users with the temporary account IP viewer (TAIV) user right will be able to see the underlying IP addresses.
- As a measure against vandalism, there are two limitations on the creation of temporary accounts:
- There has to be a minimum of 10 minutes between subsequent temporary account creations from the same IP (or /64 range in case of IPv6).
- There can be a maximum of 6 temporary accounts created from an IP (or /64 range) within a period of 24 hours.
Temporary account IP viewer user right
- Administrators may grant the temporary account IP viewer (TAIV) user right to non-administrators who meet the criteria for granting. Importantly, an editor must make an explicit request for the permission (e.g. at WP:PERM/TAIV)—administrators are not permitted to assign the right without a request.
- Administrators will automatically be able to see temporary account IP information once they have accepted the Access to Temporary Account IP Addresses Policy via Special:Preferences or via the onboarding dialog which comes up after temporary accounts are deployed.
Impact for administrators
- It will be possible to block many abusers by just blocking their temporary accounts. A blocked person won't be able to create new temporary accounts quickly if the admin selects the autoblock option.
- It will still be possible to block an IP address or IP range.
- Temporary accounts will not be retroactively applied to contributions made before the deployment. On Special:Contributions, you will be able to see existing IP user contributions, but not new contributions made by temporary accounts on that IP address. Instead, you should use Special:IPContributions for this (see a video about IPContributions in a gallery below).
Rules about IP information disclosure
- Publicizing an IP address gained through TAIV access is generally not allowed (e.g. ~2025-12345-67 previously edited as 192.0.2.1 or ~2025-12345-67's IP address is 192.0.2.1).
- Publicly linking a TA to another TA is allowed if "reasonably believed to be necessary". (e.g.
~2025-12345-67 and ~2025-12345-68 are likely the same person, so I am counting their reverts together toward 3RR

Useful tools for patrollers
- It is possible to view if a user has opted-in to view temporary account IPs via the User Info card, available in Preferences → Appearance → Advanced options →
Enable the user info card
- This feature also makes it possible for anyone to see the approximate count of temporary accounts active on the same IP address range.
- Special:IPContributions allows viewing all edits and temporary accounts connected to a specific IP address or IP range.
- Similarly, Special:GlobalContributions supports global search for a given temporary account's activity.
- The auto-reveal feature (see video below) allows users with the right permissions to automatically reveal all IP addresses for a limited time window.

- Administrators will now find that Special:MergeHistory is now significantly more flexible about what it can merge. It can now merge sections taken from the middle of the history of the source (rather than only the start) and insert revisions anywhere in the history of the destination page (rather than only the start). - Due to the result of a recent RFC, the administrator recall process is amended to extend the deadline for a re-request for adminship to 30 days or the next administrator election, whichever is later.
- Changes to the Access to Temporary Account IP Addresses Policy's disclosure rules include broadening the consecutive-blocks exception to cover all admin actions and removing the requirement to revision-delete permissible disclosures once they become unnecessary (instead requiring only their removal). See WP:TAIVDISCLOSE for more information.

- The arbitration case SchroCat has been opened. Evidence submissions in this case closed on 15 April.
- Per a recent motion, appeals of blocks from the conflict-of-interest VRT queue are, by default, appealed on-wiki through the normal unblock process. However, they may be heard by the Committee if COIVRTers disagree on the interpretation of the evidence or believe ArbCom would be better suited to hear the appeal. Administrators are also advised that loosening or lifting such blocks without the consent of someone with access to the queue or ArbCom can be grounds for desysopping.

Requested correction regarding Samthar ruling dynasty
editI would like to request a review of the section discussing the ruling dynasty of Samthar State, as the current wording appears inconsistent with several historical and official published sources.
The article presently states that the ruling family belonged to the Bar Gujar dynasty of Rajputs. However, multiple historical references appear to identify the Samthar ruling house as Gurjar.
The following sources may be relevant:
• Alexander Cunningham, Archaeological Survey of India Reports, Vol. 1–11 (1862–1865; 1871–1878), p. 71.
• Sir Roper Lethbridge, The Golden Book of India (1893), p. 745.
• Memoranda on Native States in India (Superintendent Government Printing, Calcutta, 1911), p. 55.
• The Hind Rajasthan: Annals of the Native States of India (1896), p. 750.
• The Sphere, 28 May 1938 issue, identifying H.H. Maharaja Sir Bir Singh Judev Khatana Bahadur of Samthar.
• Robert Henry Wallace, Service and Adventure with the Khakee Ressalah; or, Meerut Volunteer Horse, during the Mutinies of 1857–58.
• John Murray (London), The Historical Record of the Imperial Visit to India, 1911.
• Sahifa-e-Zarrin (1902).
These sources appear to describe or identify the Samthar ruling family as Gurjar by caste, while some records also use the designation “Khatana clan” in reference to members of the ruling house.
Suggested neutral wording:
"Several historical and official publications describe the ruling family of Samthar State as Gurjar, including works by Alexander Cunningham and colonial-era administrative records."
I request that the current wording be reviewed in light of these published sources and updated in accordance with Wikipedia's policies on verifiability, neutrality, and reliable sourcing.

- If possible, I’d really appreciate if you could also take a look when you get a chance. This issue matters a lot to us because I’m from this region, and my relatives are from the royal family of Samthar. When people from our community see the Samthar State article attributing the family to a different community, it causes a lot of confusion and disappointment. We often have to explain that the Wikipedia article currently has incorrect/misleading info.
- That’s why I reached out for help to get the article corrected with reliable sources.

Request regarding Nagabhata I page
editSir, as you can see, an unknown editor recently edited the page and added unsourced text to the Early Life section, claiming the Nagabhata I was a Rajput without providing any primary source. Per WP:V and WP:RS, this is unverifiable and controversial.
Furthermore, the same editor added bias and self-made arguments to the Historiography section, which violates WP:OR and WP:NPOV. Based on this pattern, it appears to be casteist propaganda rather than good-faith editing.
Before any action could be taken, the page was locked. I humbly request you to undo the previous edit and restore the version where I had removed their earlier attempts at inserting bias. This will bring the page back to a neutral, sourced state.

Just looking over the "Early life" section. Virji Vora is widely verified as a 16th century Jain merchant, but the bit from John F. Richards (1996) calling him "Baharji Bohra" and describing him as a Muslim Ismaili merchant feels like a conflation. There's a huge gap in time between the records, so it seems like they are totally unrelated individuals.

Ancient Indian fringe

Great work removing pseudohistorical and outright nonsense from India/South Asia-related history articles on enwiki. I was wondering whether you can have a look at Shashigupta (Sisikottos), was going to Afd this for the amount of fringe it contains but I see there is 'some' notability from encyclopedic sources (Pauly's). The fringe particularly concerns Shashigupta#Shashigupta vs Chandragupta which it was largely started out for by a now blocked editor . This and the rest of the article rely on dubious colonial-era sources among other non-RS to propagate this fringe view.
Please see if this need be cleaned up or Afd'd altogether.
