Markdown code blocks are user communication

Hey there, I saw that you have been declining some of my G15 noms based on a misunderstanding. It is not about the Markdown code blocks themselves, they are leftover communication from a chatbot to its user, I've written User:Gurkubondinn/Adding Wikitext in Markdown code blocks to G15 critera which explains why this happens. Ignore the title though, I have yet to clean this up and place it somewhere better. The actual proposal to update G15 (which would explicitly mention this as an user communication example to prevent these kinds of misunderstandings) lives elsewhere. Now I don't mind it so much with the drafts (though would have appreciated if an {{AI-generated}} tag had been placed instead to make it less likely for another reviewer to accept the draft because they didn't notice), but the mainspace article is more of a concern. I believe you that this is a chatbot artifact, but until it is added to G15 I can't accept that CSD. G15 is very clear that the two listed criteria are the only acceptable ones and a markdown codeblock left behind by a LLM is not communication with a user, it's a chatbot formatting quirk.

I guess we have different interpretations about it then. I consider it communication because it is there from the chatbot communicating (as much as a program can "communicate") a response to the user. As in it is a part of the "communication" that wraps the data part of the response. Just as WP:CERTAINLY, it is there because the program is "talking" to the user about its response, and not a part of the data portion of the response. The G15 criteria lists non-exhaustive examples of what the two criteria are, but that is why it needs to mention more examples.

This is purely my own opinion but deleting this junk should be made as easy and fast as possible. Generating it and plopping it into the project takes exponentially less time and effort than it takes getting rid of it (even if we could somehow perfect G15). In draft space at last doesn't do any harm, other than wasting AfC time, but article space is worse.

Anyway, just wanted to explain. This is a sign that I have found to be very effective in identifying both clueless and prolific LLM using editors. ‑‑gurkubondinn 02:18, 4 July 2026 (UTC)

Okay, I admit perhaps that wasn't the right reason, but I have very little reason to believe this Nicki Becha person is real, as the page is created by a vandal (Jaiam1) who is making many pages on as well as adding false information about made-up TeenNick shows, and there is zero evidence of the "DJ Gold's Smiley Playhouze with TeenNick" show existing at all. Additionally, trying to search that name in DuckDuckGo and Google returned no results whatsoever. That was why I tagged it for speedy deletion. @Eprodashinthewiki That template maybe shouldn't have been deleted as a test page, but we don't mark missing images in articles. You may want to use Template:Image requested instead. I missed two redirects

Hi! Sorry to bug you, but in my nomination at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2026 July 2#Interstate 99 in Maryland, I completely missed also nominating two other redirects at Interstate 99 (North Carolina–Delaware) and Interstate 99 (North Carolina-Delaware). Given that they're virtually identical in function to the other ones that were just deleted, I was hoping that maybe they could also be deleted without further issue? It just feels like a pain to have to create yet another separate nomination, especially since the last one received no opposition. OrdinaryScarlett (talk) 23:31, 15 July 2026 (UTC)
