In solidarity

edit

Although this is an unusual sort of topic for a User Talk page, PrimeHunter, I just want at least one Dane (you're the only one I currently know) to hear from one American how little we support our president in his plans to take over Greenland one way or another. It's hard to believe that anyone, much less the president of an ally country, could even think of such a thing, I'm outraged by this stupidity, and the only consolation is knowing that's how so many others of us in our country feel, that it might rouse us to action, and that miracles do happen.

Template:Sort and display

edit

Hello (again?). I thought about substituting the template in every page transcluding it and then nominating it for deletion. Indeed, it's been used by less than fifty pages probably. Thought I should contact you first. George Ho (talk) 01:27, 27 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

(talk page stalker) George Ho, please do not do that, and thanks for asking first. The proper sequence is to nominate the template at TFD first. If the discussion results in a closure of "delete", only then should the template be substed. Doing the steps in the opposite order is seen as gaming the system, and it prevents editors from seeing how and where the template is used. – Jonesey95 (talk) 14:30, 28 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

The template is now listed at TFD (Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Log/2026 January 28#Template:Sort and display). --George Ho (talk) 18:49, 28 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

MfD nomination of MediaWiki:Pageinfo-header

edit

MediaWiki:Pageinfo-header, a page which you created or substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; you may participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/MediaWiki:Pageinfo-header and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). Replying

edit

At the Teahouse, I thanked you for reminding me to use the template. I did not precede my thank-you with @PrimeHunter. Did you receive an email anyway or is it necessary to precede a reply with @username for you to receive one? If so, then I'll be more careful to use @username in the future. Maurice Magnus (talk) 12:42, 11 June 2026 (UTC) Maurice MagnusReply

@Maurice Magnus: Unless a user has subscribed to a section (which I almost never do), a notification requires a user page link, often made with a template like {{ping|PrimeHunter}}. But people who post help desk questions aren't expected to do that. Those who answer usually come by periodically to look for follow ups. I haven't enabled "Email" under "Mention" at Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-echo so I don't get email notifications but I do get an on-wiki notification and I'm often online. No views

edit

My 26 June discussion has been archived, so I am answering You hear about the article with no views. Yes, when I go to the full-history view, there are no bars what-so-ever. I'm wondering, did You try going thither to see if You got the same result? Kdammers (talk) 05:02, 1 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Kdammers: Your link was with "All time" selected. It still works for me in all 4 tested browsers on Windows 11 and in Safari on an iPhone. There are large bars in March 2021 and January 2024, and small bars everywhere from February 2021. I don't see the words "full" or "history". If you do something from that link to make it fail then give steps to reproduce. PrimeHunter (talk) 11:11, 1 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
