Split proposal (or remove the list entirely).

At present, I want to say the list of soundtracks on the service is already give or take a third of the article. Something that, as more soundtracks get added to the service, will only continue to grow. It probably made sense to do it this way when the service only had a handful of soundtracks at launch, but now with over a hundred present tracks, it's unreasonable to continue maintaining it. Honestly the page isn't too far off from being considered a list given how much of the page is this list (out of the pages 76,700 bytes in size, about 44,400 of it is from the soundtrack list alone). As such, one of these two options should be done:

1. Remove the list entirely. This would be more in line with something like WP:NOTDATABASE or WP:NOTCATALOG. Is listing every single individual soundtrack something that's needed to understand the service?
2. Create a standalone list article with a title similar to "List of soundtracks on Nintendo Music". The content from this page would then be split out to there.

I don't know. I don't have a problem with the list now that we've pared it back from before, but I don't feel like there's enough to support 2 articles either. Maybe we should trim the list back some. I don't think it really matters to list the date it was added. Sergecross73 msg me 02:18, 4 June 2026 (UTC)

2 per RedShell. I agree that it is getting long and it would be useful to spin it off into its own article given it being covered by many reliable sources as songs release on the app. EvanTech10 (talk) 11:54, 4 June 2026 (UTC)

Neither per Serge. The list doesn't seem too unruly at present, and the article certainly isn't long enough to demand a split per WP:SIZERULE. It seems fine in its current iteration, personally speaking. – Rhain ☔ ^he

Somehow, I forgot I ever made this proposal. Probably looks like I abandoned it but I do still stand by what I said.

@Sergecross73 and Rhain:, I'm not entirely focused on the list at present, per say. I do think it's bordering on where the article could be considered a list if multiple more soundtracks got added, but the central point is that it will only continue to get bigger. NOTDATABASE could still apply. I can, however, get behind the idea of trimming it back some. The question then becomes, how would it be trimmed back.

Also, I don't think SIZERULE should be the only thing dictating whether or not a split is justified here. λ NegativeMP1 18:21, 17 July 2026 (UTC)

It's currently growing at about one line item per week, so we're really moving a pretty slow crawl of being too long any time soon. Like I mentioned, I have no problem trimming out the release dates, just as I've consistently trimmed out other bloat, but I don't see any consensus for deleting or splitting it out - you're probably going to have to hold a wider discussion on that if you still want to pursue this.
