Duplicate pages!
editThere are two Colorado pages and two Wyoming pages! I don't know if other states have the same issue or how to merge them. One of each has "U.S. state" as the description and the other says "state of the United States of America". The latter should probably be deleted. Can someone look into this? Thanks! I am a Colorado native and was surprised to see Hunter S. Thompson not make the cut for notable writers that have visited or lived in Colorado - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colorado#Culture
Thompson's Wiki has plenty of references to Colorado https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hunter_S._Thompson and he was fairly notorious in the area.
Additionally, he fits right into the theme the paragraph concludes with - "... every man carries a gun."
Just one point on the bellcurve.

Etymology section?
editBeen some churn over a paragraph describing the name of Colorado. Seems like most the states have a top "Etymology" section, ex Arizona#Etymology, California#Etymology, Wyoming#Etymology, Wisconsin#Etymology
I propose adding a section here, I think it will also be more clear with a few sentences to work with to describe the complications with the Colorado River, Eusebio Kino, and maybe the two theories about the color of the river versus the color of the rock. I am not WP:BOLD enough to create a new first section on a State's page so figured we could workshop it a little here and see how people feel about it HappiestSisyphus (talk) 17:05, 20 January 2026 (UTC)
