Yuletide posted. Phew.

Other things:

* Have all next week off, thank goodness. So tired. So very tired.
* Want these boots. In the brown.
* Mission Impossible 4 (no, I'm not going to figure out the punctuation and extra words) was far far more fun than I expected. And Jeremy Renner continues to be hotter than he should be.
* New LJ comment pages are weird and I need to figure out something to make the font size not be wacko, but my only real complaint is that in Firefox I can't change the usericon I want to use with my comments. That is not at all helpful. Is it just me? I refuse (REFUSE) to use IE, so don't tell me that's the solution. (Neither is switching to DW, btw, thanks.) ETA of WTF: scratch that, I also can't respond to other people's comments. What? If someone has figured that one out, I'm actually more interested in THAT answer than the icon one. AND ANOTHER ETA: After experimenting, I think I can conclude that MY Firefox problems (I can't guarantee for everyone) stem from the new LJ not playing nice with the Greasemonkey add-on. I've left a comment at the LJ fixit post to that effect, and hopefully someone is paying attention and doesn't just think well, turn greasemonkey off, then.
* TV-wise, gave up on Once Upon a Time two epsiodes in. Mostly enjoying Top Chef Texas. Not sure if I'm prepared to actually SEE Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me on my television. Want more Justified to be here now. Also missing SYTYCD, why did Australia and Canada give up, wah.
* Hi. I think I'm going to make my new years resolution be that I post at least once a week, because it's not like I don't have things to say/share. Come January, you all are welcome to poke me if I don't.

Hey there, *hugs* Glad you've got some time off, hope to chat soon. Am watching The Polar Express which I'd never seen until this past week. Have now watched it a zillion times on my 21st century DVD thingy. I say treat yourself to boots you want. :)

PS. I meant/should have added, sorry that the LJ formatting has been so odd, it seems like their latest update is causing all sorts of issues for so many. Ack.

Have updated everything -- all my stupid Java and Silverlight plugins -- and still nothing. Figures, I finally decide to really jump back in and it's broken. Sigh.

(also, when I CAN choose an icon, what the heck order are my icons in? it's certainly not alphabetical)

Pretty sure it's the order you uploaded them in, except for the very first one, which is what you've marked as your default. Most recently uploaded at the bottom.

And apparently icons and replying works in Chrome, too. Which is somewhat comforting. But I don't want to have to view LJ in a different browser than I do everything else. ::grumbles::

I use Firefox, and I'm maybe oblivious, but I don't notice a huge difference in commenting? Or maybe it's because I've changed my theme. I dunno.

Also, I can change my user pics when making comments - like this one.

eta: Ah. I was already viewing comments in my own style, so I don't see the new version anyway. Good to know.

I like using the default comment page -- just plain white background with blue comment strings -- not style-specific ones. Which was fine. Until this. Now, after some poking around, I think I've figured it out: new LJ doesn't like Greasemonkey.

So now that I've figured that out, I have to figure out if there's anything I was still running in Greasemonkey that I really needed. If the answer is yes, grrr. At least LJ seems to realize that the firefox problem is add-on related. Maybe I'll go leave a comment to the effect of "LEARN TO PLAY NICE WITH GREASEMONKEY AND WE'LL STOP COMPLAINING." Except maybe nicer.

I seem to have fixed everything by using the workaround. This one. I have an alphabetical text list of icons for comments.

Hm. Well, that fixes the icon and replying issue. Good. But now all comments are in the same line and I can't tell what's a reply to another comment. Sigh.

Thanks for the link! Probably best to not mess with this when I'm all Yuletide and work stressy. Will tackle this weekend.

I am using one of the Punquin elequant S2 styles and my icons a) come up in an alphabetical list and b) my comments are indented and haven't really changed. (I was futzing with them last night because I went and clicked something because I read something and then accidentally deleted my style and I had to re-do it all, but I think I am back! Looks just like it did before.)

AND I AM SUPER EXCITED THAT IN ONE WEEK, I will be hopefully a) seeing the floor in which you will sleep and b) vacuuming said floor. It is the Only Room left to go in the Great Clean Up effort. Yeah, mine is based on Punquin, but I've stripped the colors off and turned the format around. But Punquin is the base. The thing is, I had the default comment pages. Looks like you've got the Punquin-specific ones.

Eh, like I've said above to some folks, I figured it out. With some help from people having logged a ticket to LJ noting that the Firefox problem is likely add-on related. Which, hey, I can now confirm it is! Greasemonkey, to be exact. Siiiiiigh.

And you've been doing a damn sight better than I have with the posting, so don't feel bad!

Oh! also, as I went to figure out what icon to use for you, I figured something else out -- the icon order IS by what you uploaded, except for how it's ALSO by what you used most recently. WT everlasting F, LJ? I really don't want to have to keep saying "Stop being helpful! I don't need the help!" I reserve that for Microsoft.

I'm sorry you're having lj issues. Your comment window is the first one I've actually seen with the new features. All the other ones I've commented in have been in the old style and I've had no issues in Firefox. Right now I'm using my android tablet--browser t;ype unknown--and stuff seems to work. I am absolutely no help at all.

I, too, am SO SAD about the cancellation of SYTYCD C. It was stupid of them to run it simultaneously with the US show. No wonder it had trouble. I will miss seeing all the cool styles that version introduced, but I have to admit that I won't miss Leah Miller one iota. Maybe we'll see some of the Canadian choreographers more on the American show. Alas!
