An enduring favorite of mine that gets the Miroku/Sango relationship and the unrelenting angst and heartbreak just right.

Yes. I'm cheating on this one. My defense is that I've barely been reading fanfic in the past 6 months, but this is the one I've been reading most regularly. It's still as awesome as I remembered from the first go-round.



A fic you wish had gotten more attention (less than 50 kudos on AO3 or less than 30 comments on LJ): Tattered Depravity by ApocoDino

The Inuyasha/Kikyou AU adventure fic of badassery I've been waiting for all my life.



A genfic: Mastering Chemistry by ActionBitch

I never thought I'd be recommending a genfic focused on an OC, set in an AU. Such is the power of ActionBitch's writing. I love this story wholeheartedly and encourage all to read it. Great use of humor and fabulous characterization.



A fic focused on a female character: Signed with a lie by mcmeekin

Probably the best Kimberly-centric fic I've ever read.



A fic which made you see a character in a new light: Halfway by ncfan

The short Teen Titans fic that really made me take a closer look at Cyborg.



A fic which made you ship something: The Darkest Night by Shawn30

I have to confess that I still haven't got around to exploring this series. I clicked on the fic one day out of boredom, when I was seeking an action/adventure fic... and came out of it madly shipping Trini and Kat. They're still my favorite (crack) femslash ship.



A fic which inspired you to write: Keys to the Universe by Didi

This one is the fic that got me started writing Power Rangers fic (and, incidentally, shipping Jason and Trini). It's still my go-to comfort read after all these years.



A fic with a particularly memorable line: Loneliness of the Warrior by eirenical

The line that's always stuck with me is the fic's summary: "I have been the lone warrior at this gate since I was but a child. Aino Minako... Sailor V... You don’t corner the market on feeling alone."



?????: Trini Kwan, Agent of SHIELD by TheSecondBatgirl

When I requested this prompt, I never in a million years thought anyone would write this. But someone did! (In which "World Peace Conference" is actually code for "joined SHIELD" and that's why we never see Trini and Zack again.)

In an effort to avoid editing the next chapter of Consigned to Oblivion, I'm going to ramble about something I'd really like to do but probably won't due to the huge potential for drama. Still, I've had this idea kicking around in my head for a while and I still like it. (I don't like what other people will inevitably do with it, but what can I do?)

Anyway. I posted about the idea of doing a fanfic book club on my tumblr and got a decent response. I'm never going to get an overwhelmingly positive response to anything on that site due to having pissed off a few key people (and therefore being relegated to obscurity because I Am Bad And All My Ideas Are Bad And Must Not Be Shared), but a few people I trust to be decent were on board, so who knows. Maybe we can start small and see if people like it or if it's an awful plan.

At any rate, I value the input of everyone that still follows me here. I'd appreciate hearing your thoughts on this.

... I woke up this morning to find that someone has drawn fan art for Identity Crisis!

The gifts are in! I'd call this year's MiroSanta a rousing success. We had 19 participants and 2 pinch hitters, resulting in a hefty list of new Mir/San fanworks.

For those who don't frequent Tumblr, here were the offerings for this year's MiroSanta fanworks exchange:

You may notice that there is a ton of fic and art here... this year I mixed up the rules a bit. First, the exchange allowed for fic and art as gifts. Second, while participants were only strictly required to create one gift for their assigned recipient, they could create extra gifts if they wanted. Additionally, all the requests were revealed on December 25, allowing anybody to make extra gifts (of any type, not just those meeting the minimum gift requirements) for anyone they wanted ('treats').

There's no time limit on turning in treats, so this list may be updated in the future.

For those of you that don't frequent Tumblr so much, this is your reminder: MiroSanta gifts are due in just a few days, by December 31.

Participants, please let me know ASAP how your gift is coming along if you have not done so already. How are things going? Do you think you'll be done on time? Is there anything I can do to help?

Comments are screened if you'd like to get in touch that way. (It's okay if you don't think you'll finish on time. I just need to know that so I can arrange a fill in sooner rather than later!)
