Easy Academy Counselor's Office

So I recently (like over the past week) Re-read Easy while I was sick. It was amazing and painful and it's still just as good today as it was when it was posted originally. And after I finished the last chapter, where they're in Paris and everything is going to be okay, I got to thinking about that thing that we all think about...Sequal.

I have no real delusions about one being written, but just think! Nick is 21/22 getting ready to go into grad school for Music Education and it's so exciting because he gets his first student teaching job at a public school near EASY and Dick and Lew are so proud of him and so eager to help out and so SO ready for him to not be living in the dorms. And I just--THERE'S TOTALLY A STORY TO BE TOLD.

I can't seriously be the only one who's thought about this, right?

I’ll be honest, I don’t know if I have THAT many pictures to keep doing one each section. Anyway, THIS IS WHAT NICHOLAS JERRY LOOKED LIKE AROUND THIS TIME, and also he’s wearing a tie like he would for school and maybe this should be a picture where he’s playing the guitar so the only caption could be, “EH. NINE-POINT-TWO.” in flashing neon, but THIS IS WHAT YOU GET.

Anyway, this section’s gonna be kinda happy and then the ABSOLUTE WORST, and I apologize in advance but I’M HERE FOR YOU. Even though we haven't really TALKED about the first part HERE, I know that people have been tweeting about it and I've retweeted a lot of those AND HONESTLY THAT'S ALL I NEED FOR INTERACTION I THINK, so we're just gonna do that again. The outtake's only 4000 words, so the outtake is this weekend and then Monday we'll start talking about spring semester from Nick's point of view. OKAY, YAY!

I'M going to stop yelling, sorry. So, for the next week, we're gonna read and talk about the FIRST SECTION of Easy Academy: Fall Semester, Sophomore Year, Parts one and two! You can talk about it here or over on tumblr through numerous reblogs or something. I don't know! I tried to make this really professional (kind of) last time and I talked to myself, SO THIS TIME IT'S VERY MUCH A HERE, I WANNA TALK TO SOMEBODY ELSE, LET'S DO IT.

ANYWAY Nick Jonas turned 21 today but at the end of this section he's only "sixteen fucking years old," hahaha, I'm getting sad already.

(If you read ahead or whatever THAT'S GREAT TOO but I think right now we're gonna try to do a week a section and I know at least ONE PERSON (hi Jasmine!!) who's reading it for the first time so maybe not too many spoilers or warn for them, I don't know, I think all Jasmine actually knows at this point is that it gets really sad, but is also the best. Which is unbearably true, so.)

Wherein we meet everyone, Joe jumps out of a window to chase a pigeon, Lip and Nix chaperone a trip to France over winter break (pictured above), and this whole thing kicks off.

ANYWAY

THIS EASY RE-READ IS FUCKING HAPPENING

I'm going to stop yelling.

Here's how I think this should happen! Every week (Monday to Monday, though I'd be up for changing the day if need be, like if more people are around on Friday nights or Sunday mornings or WHATEVER), I'm going to post a discussion post (although ANYONE could do it) for a full section of the main story arc (like Fall of Sophomore year, Nix POV, Parts 1&2) and we can talk about it! Spam our favorite lines, point out the best references (let's talk about how David Henrie once made out with Lucas Grabeel, as referenced in a throwaway line in the DHen outtake, LET'S TALK ABOUT THAT), ramble about ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING, whatever we want!

I'm not sure what to do about outtakes (maybe we'll put up mini-discussion posts for some of the earlier ones, and for the longer, later ones we could do a whole week on them?) but we'll figure it out.

As a little side-note, I'm sure everyone here was also a member of easy_academy so they most likely still have access to the story, but IF YOU DON'T let me know and we'll see about getting you the PDF.

IF THIS IS AGREEABLE to everyone, the first post will probably go up around ten or eleven PDT Monday morning and we'll get started on this re-read! I'll try to be around most of the week to get this whole thing kick-started.

I'M SO EXCITED/SCARED ABOUT THIS (like two months A MONTH from now we're all gonna be SO SAD).

Also, I'm really sorry for yelling so much, but it will probably keep happening, I like caps lock a lot.

First off, let me say that I'm sorry to disappoint anyone that thought this was an update. I'm pretty sure that even though this community's been silent for months, if Easy were to update we would actually all have heart attacks and it would be wonderful. 

Anyway, I've been having some Easy feelings lately, and so last Monday I decided to start rereading the series and spam tumblr with my favorite parts (shameless self-promotion!). But I've been going super slowly and missing all the flailing, so I decided to see if anyone wanted to go through a massive, heart-wrenching re-read with me! 

So far I've only read (or, spammed) the first three entries, which is Fall Semester Part 1 & 2 and the first outtake, The Awesome True Adventures of the King and Queen of the Prom, which cements my delightful Joe Jonas feelings, so it wouldn't be too hard to catch up; we could do a semester every few days or so and see how far we get? I know it's almost August (oh man) so it's still officially summer and schools probably don't start back up for a few weeks, and TV doesn't really come back for a month and a half, so I'm hoping everyone has time.

I've been out of the Jonas/Disney fandom for a while, and was never really in the BoB fandom, but I feel like I'll always be in the Easy fandom, even if I'm not (excuse me if that doesn't make sense, it's been a long day with little sleep). 

If anyone wants to join in, just let me know! We'll figure out where to go from there. Maybe we'll make some reaction posts to talk about every year or something. If no one cares to join me, don't worry, I'll continue spamming tumblr with ridiculous quotes. It's basically a win-win!  

I just read easy_academy  for the third time (take that coursework!), and I'm hurting for an update like whoa.

I have never wanted to be that person who begs for fic updates, and I never am. But I'm going to make an exception today, since that's how much this story means to my strange little life.

I have even read everything that bandofjobros and hookerfic had to offer because I am that invested in these characters. (And if you haven't read those you should cause they are good)

I know that everyone involved in this verse has other projects, interests and lives beyond Easy, but I just needed to say pleaseupdatepleaseupdatepleaseupdatepleaseupdateSOON!!!!

I just recently found out that a friend of mine (from a different fandom) is just as obsessed with Easy as I am, so just know that a Canadian girl (me) and an Israeli girl (her) along with many others are waiting with baited breathe for the next chapter.

And all begging aside, I just want to thank agate, annakovsky, irishmizzy, londondrowning and mozarts_friend for bringing this wonderfully beautiful, hot, angsty, hillarious universe to our lives. It has been a pleasure, and I look forward to where ever this story goes.
