Hi, i'm Brent. I just found one a "UU at UB" poster stuck to a wall in Governors. I've been a UU for as long as i can remember, but i didn't know there was a UU group at UB. I'll be at the meeting this sunday!
"Suggestion Box"
As promised, here is the Suggestion Box for the UUCM. please use it! it was awesome that everyone could share their comments at the meeting last night...but if there is anything else or something you just thought of-go for it! leave us ideas, comments, constructive critism, suggestions, topic ideas, anything... even if it's that you didn't like our food choices. lol ok that's it for now. but seriously, if you have something to say, please say it. whether it be here, or in an IM or to one of us in person. use your voice.
--> leave your suggestions as comments to this entry, please :)

back in the groove
here we are back at UB once again...ahh the smell of dining hall food, random garbage, and beer. oh to be an undergrad.
great news! the UUCM has come back to UB with full force. we had two super productive summer planning meetings, and have really gotten our butts into gear. we had our fall conference up at the gorgeous Unirondack camp this past weekend. and may i say what a fabulous time. (you can take a gander at the pics on our photos link on our website). we also had a super sucessful first meeting this past sunday, with 3 newcomers!!! all the work finally paid off. thanks to the banner, our "baby," hanging proudly in the SU. look for it! i love that thing. we have been flyering too, we are hitting up the dorms this week. also we've managed to register a whole chunk of people today at the voter registration table we are running in the SU. awesome. social action rocks. we have some really exciting plans for upcoming events and meetings (food, movies, games..etc). should be great. it's so nice to see an interest in the group. knowing that we can be a support to more kids here at UB. that they can feel what i feel about this group. I'd like to say a huge thanks to Jean, for all her hardwork and for sticking with our group. all the stress and ups and downs have paid off. thanks for showing us the way Jean!
ok now for some fundamentals:
MEETING TIMES: Every Sunday at 7pm in 330 SU
WEBSITE: www.geocities.com/campusuu/frame.html
EMAIL: campusuu@yahoo.com
please visit our site and search around. we've updated it and def improved it as well. we have a new logo and actually look like a professional group now (gasp!). lol
also please post or email any questions or comments. we love feedback and are happy to answer any question. no matter the topic.
thanks for checking us out! hope to see some more new faces this weekend.

hey all,
just thought i'd say for anyone who's looking at this that our group is going to have an informational booth on Friday in the Student union. We will be giving out condoms for everyone who registers to vote. We'll also have information on our group and Unitarian Universalism as a whole....so stop by...everyone is welcome!

other groups events
hey guys, we heard back from the Jewish SU on events they've invited us to participate in. I think I pretty much told all ya'll about them but here's the last event left of the semester, which from what i heard alot of people are interested in participating in:
-->a chocolate seder on April 13th at 7:30pm in room
145A. This is basically a mock Passover seder done completely in
chocolate and it's purpose is actually to teach people of other
religions about Passover in a fun way and there will be lots and lots
of chocolate!
Sounds good to me. I emailed Heidi (the president) letting her know that a few of us would be going, and we could help out beforehand if neccessary.
Also, we stopped by the LGTBA office to hang up a poster and we were invited to participate in their "Day of Silence" event on April 21st. If you want more info on that, email me back I can send you the blurb about it. Also if we donate $1 to them, we can recieve a "Day of Silence" t-shirt. They put us on their list-serve so we will be kept up to date on their events. They were really nice and supportive of us. Tres cool. well that's all for now.
