It's time to pick out your costume, start carving those pumpkins, and decide on goodies to share because it's almost time for the 2021 session of Buffyverse Top 5!

That means recs for all fanworks in the Whedon fandoms. Our kickoff is on October 22, 2019 at midnight UTC (click here for your time zone). The session will run across Halloween in all timezones and close on November 2 midnight UTC.

We are 13 days away from the kickoff of the first annual all-in-one buffyversetop5 session which will open at Midnight GMT on October 24 and run until Midnight GMT on November 2. As in the past, this Halloween session will be open for Classic Recs. But we're also going to have a new event -- FlashForward Weekend, October 27 and 28, for your 2018 recs!

A month from now at midnight GMT on October 28 (6 PM EST in the U.S. on Oct 27) we’ll be celebrating Halloween through all the time zones until midnight November 1. Five days for you to bring your all-time favorite recs of fics, vids, graphics, anything and everything fandom has produced in all the Whedon fandoms! All time periods before 2017 are eligible for posting and, as always, crossover content is A-OK, so get those lists ready!

We also want to alert anyone following us here that, following the movement of many people to Dreamwidth, either primarily or exclusively, we are opening the Dreamwidth outlet to posts during this session. So whether you want to post here or there, we hope to see names old and new here soon. Let us known if you have questions!

buffyversetop5's Worlds Without Shrimp session will be opening at midnight GMT on April 1 and will run through April 8. This is the time to haul out your recommendations for any fanworks in the Whedonverse (other than the Buffyverse!) So recs for Cabin in the Woods, Avengers, Firefly, Dr. Horrible, Dollhouse, Sugarshock, and all things Whedonian are fair game!

As always, crossover fanworks with any of these fandoms are welcome. Stop by if you have any questions.

Worlds Without Shrimp is open to recs for fan-created works from any time period, and our usual posting guidelines apply. Come celebrate the Whedonverses!

Just a reminder, the North American airing of Dr Horrible on the CW Network is on tonight at 9(8 Central?). Check your local listings and spread the word.

ETA: (Also I have heard a rumour that some of the cast may be live-tweeting during the airings in several time zones, so if you are a Tweeter, watch for that.)

Joss Whedon’s acclaimed Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, starring Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion and Felicia Day, will make its television debut on Tuesday, October 9 at 9pm on The CW.

Created as a three-part online musical in July 2008 (total running time : 42 minutes), it stars Neil Patrick Harris as Billy, aka Dr. Horrible, a budding super villain whose plans for world domination continually go awry. His 2 goals : getting accepted into the Evil League of Evil, and working up the guts to speak to his laundromat crush Penny (Felicia Day). The only thing standing in his way is his superhero arch nemesis, Captain Hammer (Nathan Fillion). With one big score, Billy could get into the ELE and earn the respect of Penny, but only if he can keep her away from the dashing Hammer.

Directed by Joss Whedon, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog was written by Maurissa Tancharden, Zack Whedon, Jed Whedon & Joss Whedon with music by Jed Whedon & Joss Whedon.
