Akash Kulgod grew up in a family of 11 doctors and a rotating cast of dogs in Belgaum, before studying Cognitive Science with Highest Honors at UC Berkeley. He has performed research in 8 labs across 5 countries, and is the first author of three publications and one patent on canine cognitive neuroscience. He is a 2x Emergent Ventures India grantee and a 2025 Foresight Institute Fellow. Outside of Dognosis, Akash cheerleads a rural Karnataka STEM talent-search program - Pratbha Poshak - and an affordable companion animal hospital Soulmates Healthcare. He enjoys coffee, reading, writing, and running.

Subha holds a master’s in Industrial Biotechnology and a PhD in animal behavior and neuroethology from NCBS, focusing on collective behavior. From bacteria to orangutans, her work spans across diverse organisms, fueling her curiosity for all scales of life. At Dognosis, she combines her passion for animal behavior, problem-solving, and cutting-edge AI to decode scent profiles as early disease indicators. She thrives on untangling biology’s complexities and building systems that answer tough questions. Outside work, she’s a trained vocalist, art enthusiast, and lover of remote places, music, and philosophical musings.

Vishnu is a design-driven problem solver with 6+ years of experience in R&D, robotics, and automated systems. He specializes in taking products from prototype to mass production, managing the entire development lifecycle, and enjoys developing products from Zero to One. He thrives in environments that foster creativity and imagination, always shying away from the mundane. In his spare time, he enjoys business reads, football, and meaningful conversations. With a Master’s in Pharmacology, Sahana was part of Dognosis before it even existed! As the Clinical Lead, she bridges communication between study sites and sponsors, handles site visits, maintains documentation, trains CRCs, and oversees QA/QC. Her motto: “Everything is learnable and doable; we just need patience.” Outside work, Sahana is a serial hobbyist—designing diaries, stickers, custom products, and dog outfits. A foodie and nature photographer, she loves exploring new cuisines and capturing nature’s beauty. Impulsive trips, rock climbing, and uncovering the truth about “haunted” spots keep her adventurous spirit alive. She thrives on Dognosis’ positive energy and is grateful to see the company grow from the ground up, working alongside the true superheroes—our dogs.

Shrishti has always been more fascinated by the why of things than just the how. She studied engineering at PES University with the exact same motivation to learn all the why-s. With books and writing as her earliest companions, she grew up believing that ideas matter most when they create real change. At Dognosis, she works in the Founder’s Office, where her role spans strategy, product, partnerships, and communications. She thrives on connecting the dots between science and strategy, ensuring that the company’s ambitious goals are grounded in clarity and purpose.

Rose is a 2 year old Beagle and was the first Dognosis canine team member. She has always shown up to cancer detection work with passion and motivation and performs with consistency. When not sniffing cancer, Rose enjoys jumping, running after balls, and taking a dip in ponds and water bowls. Rose also holds the Dognosis record for the highest vertical.

I’m a software engineer with a computer science degree from IIT Palakkad. I bring a very professional approach to my work, with a strong interest in software programming and hands-on experience designing high-performance REST APIs in Rust, managing AWS infrastructure, and developing cross-platform solutions for device management. My prior experience includes building front-end applications with VueJS and backend systems using Spring Boot, MySQL, and ElasticSearch. I thrive in stressful environments and enjoy tackling challenging problems, always eager to learn something new along the way. I also have a keen interest in AI and machine learning — early in my career, I worked on related projects and enjoyed exploring those fields. I excel in collaborative teams and love building impactful solutions.

Dr. Sanjeev Kulgod is a Surgical Oncologist and Managing Director of RadOn Cancer Centre, Hubballi, with advanced training in breast and gastrointestinal cancers from leading institutes in the UK and the Netherlands. With over two decades of experience, he pioneered breast-conserving and oncoplastic breast surgeries in Northern Karnataka and has a strong focus on GI, hepatobiliary, pancreatic, and head & neck cancers. He is an active academic contributor, having presented research internationally and led major oncology conferences, while championing precision cancer care in the region.

Venkat brings a rare depth of discipline and dedication to his role as Lab Manager. A graduate with a Bachelor of Arts, he embarked on an extraordinary path at just 17 — joining the Indian Army Special Forces, where he was selected for classified operations. He served with distinction before retiring in 2019 after the completion of his full service tenure. Following his military career, Venkat joined Linfox Logistics Pvt. Ltd., where he continued to apply the same precision and commitment that defined his years in service and now aims to continue with the same dedication at Dognosis. A proud patriot and devoted family man, Venkat cherishes time with his wife and daughters — the heart behind everything he does

Ido is the Head of Canine Training at Dognosis, with 12 years of hands-on experience training working dogs for detection, protection, and service roles. He holds a B.Sc. in Animal Science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, which grounds his training philosophy in evolutionary biology and behavioral science. Ido has always been drawn to the questions at the edge of what animals can do — and at Dognosis, those early childhood questions have become his daily work: pushing the limits of canine olfaction to detect disease at scale.

Fueled by a passion for humans and dogs, Itamar is a versatile expert in canine behavior and detection work. With four years of experience in the elite Israeli K9 unit (Oketz), Itamar honed his skills in high-pressure environments. He later became the first employee at a groundbreaking disease detection dog start-up in Israel. His unique expertise is central to Dognosis’ mission of advancing human-canine partnerships for early cancer detection.

Abhijit studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering at NIT Goa, where he worked on Spiking Neural Networks and completed an internship at Jio focused on computer vision. At Dognosis, he applies his expertise in computational neuroscience and AI, diving into DevOps when needed. With a passion for learning and problem-solving, Abhijit enjoys understanding how things work. A true dog lover, he spends his free time bonding with dogs and playing with them. He's also into sports (especially football), hiking, and making every activity a bit more fun. Recently, he’s become fascinated by cars, with a particular obsession for JDMs.

Kiran is a Clinical Research Coordinator and Team Lead at the Hubli sites. With a Master’s in Pharmacy specialising in Pharmacology, he applies a rigorous approach to clinical research and project execution, ensuring high standards and impactful healthcare outcomes. Outside of work, Kiran is an avid motorcycle enthusiast who enjoys exploring new destinations and gaining fresh perspectives on the open road. His appreciation for animals is reflected in his close bond with his dogs, Jacky and Tommy, who exemplify loyalty and unconditional care.

Dr. Gopikrishna Deshpande is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Auburn University, where he leads neuroimaging research at the MRI Research Center. His work focuses on brain connectivity, fMRI, and machine learning applications in neuroscience, with active collaborations at institutions including NIMHANS and IISc. He holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Georgia Tech. In addition to his work in human neuroscience, Dr. Deshpande leads the neuroimaging and brain analytics component of Auburn’s canine performance research — a core part of the DHS-funded DCSITE program, which received a $24 million contract to advance detection dog science and operational threat detection. His group applies cutting-edge neuroimaging techniques to understand and enhance working dog cognition and behavior. He has published extensively and is a recipient of the 2024 Health 2.0 Outstanding Leadership Award.

Krishnakumar specializes in sensor technology, nanomaterials, and embedded systems, with expertise in material synthesis, signal processing, and real-time data analysis. At IISc Bangalore, he worked on cutting-edge projects involving pressure sensors, bolometers, and gas sensors, combining advanced materials with practical electronics. Passionate about bridging research and innovation, he thrives on turning lab-scale ideas into real-world solutions.

Billy is a 2 year old Beagle and the free-spirited dog of the pack. She is a strong cancer sniffer although her technique has been remarked upon as unorthodox. Billy is fond of playing pranks on her humans and dog colleagues and appears to derive great enjoyment from the sensation of flying.

Dr. B. R. Patil is a senior Surgical Oncologist and Chairman of the Board of Management at Karnatak Cancer Therapy and Research Institute (KCTRI), Hubballi. Among the pioneers of surgical oncology in the region, he trained at Tata Memorial Hospital and has been instrumental in establishing head and neck oncology as a distinct specialty, with KCTRI recognized as a postgraduate training center by RGUHS. Over his decades of service, he has led the institute’s growth into a 160-bedded comprehensive cancer center, achieved NABH accreditation, and established the region’s first hospice unit, making significant contributions to advancing cancer care and training in North Karnataka.

Divith is a data science and economics graduate from Plaksha University with experience spanning AI systems, financial modelling, and growth engineering. He’s worked across analytics and product design — from building spatio-temporal transformers for crisis forecasting to leading early-stage startups to the moon. Beyond work, he’s a half-marathoner, avid hiker, on-the-scene writer and drummer who enjoys experimenting with rhythm and endurance both on stage and off. His current interests lie in applied AI, startup strategy, and exploring the intersection of human creativity and machine intelligence.

Aswin is a passionate tech enthusiast who loves pushing the boundaries of robotics and AI. With experience in UAV avionics, robotic automation, and AI-driven sensing technologies, he has worked on projects ranging from autonomous drones to canine behavior analysis. Aswin has contributed to multiple research publications and has expertise in ROS, computer vision, and embedded systems. Beyond work, he enjoys tinkering with electronics, exploring new AI trends, and building creative projects.

Maadesh is a Mechatronics graduate currently working as a design intern. He is skilled at building what’s needed from scratch, creating 3D models, and supporting the development and testing of prototypes to validate design concepts. Collaborating closely with engineers and designers, Maadesh refines designs and implements feedback. He stays updated on the latest industry trends and technologies, applying this knowledge to enhance his work.

Professor Benny Chain is a Professor of Computational Immunology at University College London (UCL), with joint appointments in the Division of Infection & Immunity and the Department of Computer Science. His research combines immunology with data science, focusing on T and B cell receptor diversity using high-throughput sequencing and computational tools. He collaborates closely with clinicians to study immune responses to infections like HIV and tuberculosis, as well as cancer. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge and has held postdoctoral positions at the Sloan Kettering Institute.

Iggy is 1.5 years old and was formerly the young-un of the pack. She possesses one of the best cancer-sniffing techniques, taking great care in each sniff, and requiring a still and calm environment to perform at her best. Iggy enjoys receiving pets from her human colleagues and does her part in maintaining the yard’s cleanliness.

Dr. Shashidhar is a clinician-scientist with expertise at the intersection of medical research and digital health innovation. He has led projects in biomarker discovery, point-of-care diagnostics, and cancer screening, with a focus on translating laboratory advances into practical solutions for patients. At KMC Research Institute, Hubballi, he has been closely involved in multicentric collaborations, contributing to the development of novel biosensor-based assays and early detection tools. He brings to the team a strong background in translational research, clinical validation, and academic leadership, along with a commitment to making affordable, accessible healthcare technologies a reality in India.

As a proven builder and scaler of organisations, he brings a truly interdisciplinary skill set. Driven by Dognosis' ambitious mission to save millions of lives through early cancer detection, he focuses on business development, forging external partnerships, and optimising internal processes. Outside of work, Rishi is a pro ultimate frisbee player, having represented Karnataka and competed internationally. A music connoisseur, he enjoys everything from Carnatic classical to Western pop and dabbles in multiple instruments himself.

With a background in premier research institutions and a strong foundation in both hardware and software systems, I offer a multidisciplinary engineering perspective grounded in practical experience and continuous learning. I have worked across the entire product development lifecycle, from designing and assembling hardware components, including PCB soldering and 3D printing, to developing embedded systems and writing efficient code in Python, C, and Rust. I strive to deliver robust, scalable, and meaningful solutions through a hands-on, detail-oriented approach and a deep curiosity about how things work — and how they can be improved.

Achin loves two things above all: data and dogs (often in that order). He earned his Interdisciplinary Dual Degree at IIT Bombay, where he became fascinated by how small nudges in behaviour can unlock huge improvements in our lives. That curiosity led him to study the neural basis of attention, habit formation at IISc Bangalore, and ultimately to Dognosis, where he aims combines computational modelling with state‑of‑the‑art generative AI. When he’s not training models or analysing results, you might hear him chasing after a pup (“Oh, look: a dog! Let’s go pat!”), debating the rise of ASI, pondering Absurdist philosophy, or unfazed by all this, bowling leg‑breaks on the cricket field.

Tahameen holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree with a solid foundation in cardiology, oncology, and patient care. With hands-on experience as a physician assistant alongside cardiologists and oncologists, she now focuses on clinical research and scientific advancements at Dognosis. Dedicated to reducing cancer-related mortality, Tahameen strives to enhance treatment outcomes and save lives. Outside of work, she enjoys crafting mandala art, reading, playing badminton, and taking long rides.

Chloe is a 2.5 year old Lab-Indie mix and the most enthusiastic Dognosis canine member. While in her personal life she is filled with excitement, in the professional sphere she is calm and collected, approaching sniffing with a delicate and precise technique. Chloe enjoys expressing herself vocally and the company of humans.

Dr. Promit Moitra is a PhD in physics, in the field of nonlinear dynamics and complex systems, from IISER Mohali. He transitioned into cognitive neuroscience during his postdoc, studying the neural mechanisms of value based decision making, at IIT Kanpur. At Dognosis, he brings his experience with interpretation of non invasive biosignals to understand our K9 comrades better as they do what they do best - sniff! He loves football, jazz, trekking, arguing, reading, dogs, campfire conversations, among other things.

"I am Goutham Ravi, a Mechanical Engineer with 4.5 years of experience in medical devices and automation systems. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Design from Kaunas University of Technology in Lithuania, Europe. My Technical expertise is on designing FDA Class II medical devices such as knee, dental implants and also in developing mechanical systems like special-purpose machines, medical automation setups, and 3D printer machine. At Dognosis, I focus on product design and development, blending creativity with precision in the output. I am a lively person and practical thinker who cares about all while staying dedicated to my own goals. Patience is one of my strengths, and I believe in staying calm and focused in every situation. Outside work, I love sketching portraits ,Zen tangle Arts, watching cricket sometimes playing also, playing Badminton , watching movies, listening to music, playing with my dog Elric, and exploring offbeat travel spots. My personal motto which i always keep upon is never assume anything until I see it in reality."

Christy works in People and Operations, with a focus on building simple, effective systems that help teams do their best work. He has experience across HR operations, compliance, and supporting growing startups and enjoys bringing structure to fast-paced environments. At Dognosis, he works closely on people practices and day-to-day operations to keep things running smoothly. Christy enjoys solving practical challenges and finding ways to make processes more efficient. Outside of work, he values time with his close friends and family, continuous learning, and keeping things balanced with a grounded, people-first approach.

Anjum holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree with a strong foundation in oncology and patient care. During her internship, she gained hands-on experience shadowing oncologists and working as a physician assistant. At Dognosis, she focuses on clinical research, driven by a passion for bridging scientific advancements with patient care. Outside of work, she enjoys baking, skincare, and exploring fashion, bringing creativity and balance to her life.

Dr. Swaratika Majumdar is a Consultant Medical Oncologist at Narayana Health, Bengaluru, with training from CMC Vellore and Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. She has published extensively in leading medical journals, contributed to oncology textbooks, and served as Associate Editor of the South Asian Journal of Cancer. With expertise in thoracic, gastrointestinal, and hematological cancers, she brings a strong focus on evidence-based, patient-centric care.

Outside of work, I stay active with both indoor and outdoor games, which help me stay balanced and energized. On weekends, I engage in small-scale farming, which connects me to nature and offers a peaceful escape from the digital world. His work is fueled by a deep-seated interest in understanding biological systems, a passion he honed at the Indian Institute of Science with a degree in Bioengineering and Computational Biology. Drawing on his experience simulating complex biological processes, he is driven by the vast potential of synthetic biology and its applications to redefine modern technology. Outside the lab, he recharges through focused pursuits like cycling and swimming, but is equally energized by connecting with people and sharing good stories.

A curious kid who never quite stopped asking how the body works — and where the line between science and saving lives first became real for him. With a background in Electronics and Communication Engineering, he moved into signal processing & ML research on neurological disorder detection, before expanding into R&D and Product Development. At Dognosis, he brings that same instinct to translating complex problems into scalable, data-driven products. Harsha holds a conviction that science and technology are two sides of the same coin — neither complete without the other. He pushes himself unabashedly into the theoretical — believing that deep tech can only evolve from deep science, and that the AI systems of tomorrow are built on the mathematics of today. Outside work, he is a diver who explores the ocean and the creatures that thrive in its depths.

Thiru is an electronics aficionado with expertise in embedded systems and IoT. With a workshop full of snacks and tea, he brews innovative ideas that turn concepts into reality. Over the years, Thiru has contributed to multiple startups and worked on projects across India, the US, the UK, and Dubai, collaborating with institutions like NIRT-ICMR, Dubai Airport Authorities, Alpha Data, and top universities. Known for his belief that “laughter is the best voltage,” he brings energy and fun to the team. Outside of circuitry, Thiru enjoys spirited debates—especially on the merits of pineapple on pizza. By night, he’s on the piano, channeling creativity through music. With a Grade 3 certification from Trinity College London, his passion for melody keeps him grounded while fueling his innovative approach to research. Whether advancing science or playing a soulful tune, Dasmen is all about making an impact—one discovery and one note at a time.

Snow is 3.5 years old and the undisputed figurehead of the Dognosis pack. She presides over her surroundings with a quiet regal energy that inspires admiration amongst her dog and human colleagues. Snow is the canine R&D lead, having been a pivotal part of DogSense’s development, and continues to be an important contributor to algorithm development, such as for lie detection.

Cheetah is a 2 and half year old Beagle and the generally accepted leader of the pack. Named after the legendary Oketz dog, she is filled with an immense drive for sniffing of all kinds and often performs with intensity and single-minded focus. She is a frequent collaborator of the Mechanical Engineering dept for testing of new SniffSpace equipment. In her free time, Cheetah enjoys sniffing the scent trails of peacocks and rabbits and enjoying a good meal.

As a Master's in Pharmacy with a specialization in Pharmacology, I've developed a strong foundation in understanding the intricacies of drug interactions and their effects on the human body. My passion for canine companions led me to join Dognosis, where I get to combine my love for dogs with my professional expertise. During my internship, I had the opportunity to shadow oncologists, gaining hands-on experience in the field of cancer treatment. This exposure not only deepened my understanding of oncology but also instilled in me a desire to contribute to the development of innovative treatments. Beyond my professional pursuits, I'm a people person who thrives on connecting with individuals from diverse backgrounds. I believe that every interaction has the potential to teach me something new and enrich my life. One of my notable achievements is authoring the book "A Concise Text on Alzheimer's Diseases", which aims to provide valuable insights into this complex condition. Beyond my academic pursuits, I'm an avid dog lover with a soft spot for these loyal companions. Dogs bring me immense joy, and I find their companionship truly special. In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, which helps me unwind and sparks my creativity. Socializing with friends is another aspect of my life that I cherish deeply, as it allows me to connect with like-minded individuals and build lasting relationship

I am a final-year Bachelor of Pharmacy student with a strong interest in clinical research and patient-centered healthcare. I have worked on a translational project associated with IIT Kanpur and contributed to initiatives such as the Biomestar Vacation Online Program, where I taught high school students about cancer and clinical trials, and the RCF Foundation, where I educated students in chemistry and biology. These experiences sparked my interest in clinical research. Currently, as an intern at Dognosis, I collaborate with oncologists and CRCs, gaining hands-on experience in clinical workflows and patient interaction. I am committed to contributing effectively to the team through dedicated and high-quality work. I enjoy teaching, engaging with students, and building meaningful connections with patients. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc Nursing) and bring over three years of experience as a Nursing Officer, with strong expertise in patient care and clinical practice. Currently, I work as a Clinical Research Coordinator at Dognosis, where I actively contribute to clinical studies and support research focused on improving patient outcomes and advancing evidence-based healthcare. I am always eager to learn and grow. Outside of my professional work, I enjoy drawing, singing, and listening to music.

A dedicated Clinical Research Coordinator experienced in site management, hospital rounds, patient counselling, sample collection, and patient recruitment. Skilled in maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring robust data management in compliance with protocol requirements and ICH-GCP guidelines. Known for a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to learning, I continuously strive to enhance my skills and adapt to new challenges. Intern with Dognosis
We are always open to working with passionate, motivated, and curious engineers, scientists, designers, clinical researchers, and generalists to work with us on a range of challenging problems. These include neurotechnology, robotics, olfactory science, embedded systems, signal processing, computational modelling, full-stack software, on-ground clinical research, communication design and much more.
We hold a high bar for interns given the fast-moving, multidisciplinary nature of our work: we're looking for people who are genuinely motivated, high-agency, and able to commit to at least 3 months in person.
Internships have the possibility of converting to a full-time position. Additional perks include a competitive stipend, a rigorous learning experience, and occasionally hanging out at a farmhouse/ lab with 9 friendly dogs.
