Things I learned from watching Cdramas.

It doesn’t matter if you’ve watched tons of Kdrama or Jdorama. Cdramas are totally different from those two. I’ve watched a couple of Kdramas and Jdoramas so I know it will be hard to not compare these three. Whatever your ideas you have of Cdrama in your mind, toss them out. I cannot emphasise this more, start with a clean slate.

If you’re thinking that their fight scenes are quite ridiculous, that’s okay. I’m not gonna deny that fact when I sometimes do think that way too. However, after watching a couple of Cdramas, it just now feels like those fight scenes are part of their culture, a part of who they are. They might not have the best CGI in the world, but I personally think it’s the most fitting to the story they are conveying to the watchers.

It might get draggy, but do not drop things immediately. When I was watching Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms, it felt like it was dragging the story longer. Had I dropped that drama, I would have not get the chance of watching one of the best shows I’ve watched so far. Just think that Cdramas always want to play the long game. And really, Cdramas will teach you patience.

What I’m trying to point is that, Cdrama is totally different from the other dramas out there. They are their own thing, and if you try to be open, you’ll find that there are something more than those sometimes silly fights and draggy stories.
