MRI Today
I had to schlep over to the West Side of Manhattan today (I used to live on that side, sigh... still miss it but too expensive for a disabled woman with children!) for my next MRI.
This is a new machine with a larger aperature and everything went fine.
Except
my gyn ordered a friggin' LLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGG GGG -- MRI of my abdomen & pelvis study so I laid, on my back (I have scoliosis so bear that in mind) with this grid thingy strapped to my belly and pelvis, with an IV in my left arm in the MRI. It was big enough and everyone was very nice. They even had large size medical gowns!
But the study took - are you ready? OVER TWO (2) HOURS. That's right - OVER TWO HOURS OF ME in an MRI machine. My back was throbbing, I had a hell of a time sitting up after, my legs went into spasm and I was sweating. Even the techs and the nurse (a male nurse named Scott - truly nice guy) told me it was a "damn long study" and that I got "gold stars for being a good sport."
Good sport? I have one cyst the size of a small baby in me and possibly more. I don't care about the fecking MRI - just take it out!!! And thanks for the reminder that I can't grow children without MASSIVE HELP but cysts... hey I make them like popcorn...
One good note - my recent CA-125 bloods (cancer marker) came back totally clean this time.
I didn't get my nap in today - I went right to p/u my kids afterward.
So this is how I spend my day...
