My Give A Damn's Busted

How Many More Shocks this Month can I take...

well today I got another shock...

about 18 years ago I was in contact with a girl I knew from high school - she's about 3 years older than me. She was at one time involved with a married man and later he divorced his wife and married her.

She knew my 1st Narc boyfriend (Mike) - they were "close"... she asked me about him, what happened with us and I told her what I knew - the WHOLE TRUTH... then a few days later, out of the blue - I get an EMAIL from her telling me to never contact her again. EVER. WTF?!?!?! I felt bad, thought I offended her. Didn't put 2 + 2 together

Well, today I found out that not only did that 1st Narc of mine move across the country... he divorced wife #1 and she divorced her husband - and they are now married with young kids. She must have tracked him down USING ME and my information! 17-18 years ago! She's raving on classmates how he's the love of her life... blah blah blah...

amazing... 35 years later and people are still the same IDIOTS as always!! she must be blind but hey, 35 years of blindness I guess its ok. LOL!

Oh great! What else???

Why ME/CFS may kill you: Disorders in the inflammatory and oxidative and nitrosative stress (IO&NS) pathways may explain cardiovascular disorders in ME/CFS – Source: Neuro Endocrinology Letters, Dec 30, 2009
by Michael Maes, FN Twisk

There is evidence that disorders in inflammatory and oxidative and nitrosative (IO&NS) pathways and a lowered antioxidant status are important pathophysiological mechanisms underpinning myalgic encephalomyelitis / chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS).

Important precipitating and perpetuating factors for ME/CFS are (amongst others):

Bacterial and viral infections;

• Bacterial translocation due to an increased gut permeability;

And psychological stress.

<lj-cut text="Read more">Recently, Jason, et al. (2006) reported that the mean age of patients with myalgic encephalomyelitis / chronic fatigue syndrome dying from heart failure, i.e., 58.7 years, is significantly lower than the age of those dying from heart failure in the general US population, i.e., 83.1 years.

These findings implicate that ME/CFS is a risk factor to cardiovascular disorder. This review demonstrates that disorders in various IO&NS pathways provide explanations for the earlier mortality due to cardiovascular disorders in ME/CFS.

These pathways are:

a) Chronic low grade inflammation with extended production of nuclear factor kappa B and COX-2 and increased levels of tumor necrosis factor alpha;

b) Increased O&NS with increased peroxide levels, and phospholipid oxidation including oxidative damage to phosphatidylinositol;

c) Decreased levels of specific antioxidants - that is, coenzyme Q10, zinc, and dehydroepiandrosterone-sulphate (DHEAS); *

d) Bacterial translocation as a result of leaky gut;

e) Decreased omega-3 polyunsatutared fatty acids (PUFAs), and increased omega-6 PUFA and saturated fatty acid levels; and

f) The presence of viral and bacterial infections and psychological stressors.

The mechanisms whereby each of these factors may contribute towards cardiovascular disorder in ME/CFS are discussed.

ME/CFS is a multisystemic metabolic-inflammatory disorder. The aberrations in IO&NS pathways may increase the risk for cardiovascular disorders.

My Give A Damn's Busted

oy vey

Today I got a call from a friend telling me she has cancer.
I was stunned, in shock and mind going a mile a minute.
I said the wrong thing
She called me back to tell me to go to hell and that I am a condescending bitch and never to speak to her again.

I apologized - that's all I can do.
I am human.
I am stupid.
I make mistakes just like everyone else.
