Finally updated my profile and added a snail mail address (I did rent a P.O. box a few months ago), so if you want to write me a letter or something, you can do so now.

Ugh, this week is so packed. Resumé-writing yesterday, my first attendance at a feminist workgroup meeting today (it was awesome!), tomorrow going out for dinner with the person I have a bit of a crush on. Not to mention I have to work overtime at my office and had a mean headache since yesterday afternoon but for reasons unclear to me it is gone now. Nothing planned for Friday yet (good!).

What movies have you seen recently? Any recommendations? Anti-recommendations?

Strongly recommend

Trumbo (2015) "In 1947, Dalton Trumbo was Hollywood's top screenwriter, until he and other artists were jailed and blacklisted for their political beliefs." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gryhSJxx7I

and Hail, Caesar! (2016).

Saw both recently: both very good! ^_^

"The Duke of Burgundy": like a somewhat weird take on 1960s erotic movies. Beautifully shot and utterly devoid of men.

"Deadpool". not quite as good and/or edgy as I had hoped it would be but still more than funny enough.

"Beti and Amare": either a fairytale or a metaphor. I really liked it. (THere's triggery stuff in there, though.)

"Hail, Caesar" I thought was very solid but not one of the Coen's best IMHO.

If you like horror films: "Starry Eyes".

What are your amorphous thoughts and why were you angry? Was there too much damsel-in-distressing for your liking?

I watched The Phantom most recently. I have seen it before, but remembered nothing about except Billy Zane is in it and he has exceptional eyeliner. Anyway, it's a good superhero film that doesn't take itself too seriously (and also Mr Zane looks like he had a ball filming it, which always helps).

The internet says Batman versus Superman is a bad film. I have no idea but I don't want to watch it anyway.

What about you, what films have you seen recently?

Yeah, there's a lot of early superhero films I still haven't seen.

I know absolutely nothing about In & Out, but I'm secretly pleased that you weren't keen on Deadpool (everyone I follow on twitter thinks it's the best). I know what you mean about Star Wars, and I just have no desire to watch TFA right now.

I only watched it to kill time and I still felt robbed of those 90 minutes.

I feel like that about a bad film I watched that allegedly had dragons in it.

No worries! Ahhh yeah, Inside Out got hyped a lot from what I remember. There were loads of people on tumblr going "OMG THIS FILM! IT EXPLAINS EMOTIONS SO WELL!" I feel like I should add something else here, but I'm very tired and can't brain too well right now. Anyway, I got bored of hearing about it, I think is where I was going with this.
