Congratulations on writing an entire episode about human trafficking and prostitution that managed to at no point whatsoever link these two phenomena.

Seriously?! Uhm, that's got to be deliberate, because even the slightest amount of research would have linked the two... so what the hell were the writers thinking?

I have no idea. It was mind-boggling. The backdrop was the human trafficking lobby, but the only facet of prostitution shown was the "high class" hotel lobby variety. And after discovering a shipping container full of desperate, mistreated women left to die, two male characters have an unrelated conversation that ends in a joke about how the only thing wrong with prostitution is that it's too expensive for the john.

You know I'm a fan of SUPERNATURAL in spite of its gender!fail, but that's mostly not even having female characters in half the episodes.

This is bringing up the *issue* and then making a joke about it. In some ways that's even more insulting than not bringing things up in the first place! :P

I'm doubly disappointed because this show was pretty much my one source for titillation-free serial killer hunting since Criminal Minds went down the toilet.

Yeah, I'm not giving up on it yet, because it looks like the person responsible for this episode isn't a regular writer - but the show does feature that annoying 'free-spirited man and nagging woman' dynamic, and the premise is based on women in refrigerators, so it's not like this is the one black mark.

Wait, really? I don't watch this show, but I honestly can't imagine that you could do a story on human trafficking that *didn't* connect it to prostitution, at least on a surface, not really challenging assumptions, level. Maybe I'm *too* narrow-minded that it's really my *only* association for human trafficking.

It was the weirdest thing. I kept waiting for it and waiting for it, and then, nothing. It almost felt like two ideas had been smushed together: one about a human trafficking lobbyist being killed when he was about to out a charity for trafficking, and one about a man who's tricked into believing that a woman he paid for sex was really his biological daughter. Essentially, the whole human trafficking angle was just used as a red herring.
