Dead Wierd - The Tosh/Owen Community

I wasn't expecting to ever write TW fanfiction, so this is a surprise for me too. XD I do love the characters and the pairing though, so it was enjoyable to write. First TW fic. Hope you enjoy :)

Notes: Set at the end of Adam, after Tosh finds the flowers from Owen. I wrote this feeling that while Adam was able to manipulate both memories and emotions, he didn’t exactly manipulate character; somehow, nerdy!Owen actually felt surprisingly natural – there were endearing parts of his characterization there that I believe actually could’ve existed before he lost Katie. I’m just going from there.

It feels strange there, delicately lovely amongst the mess of dusty machines and crisp piles of paper, but it leaves her with an unsaid comfort.

I’ve been thinking about Owen and Tosh being together in Pete’s World ever since I read a Rose/TenII fic that very briefly touched on them working at Torchwood and being married, so this is just me messing around with that idea a little. (I hope that writer wouldn't think I'm ripping off their idea, or anything; I actually want to play around with a lot of Whoniverse characters' Pete's World incarnations now.)

Here's the stuff I've been unable to find any answers to, either in past fan conversations or in the press.

1.  What does "Catholic but grateful" mean?   Is that another way of saying she'd insist on the missionary position with the lights out?  Is that a saying in England?  (I'm a barbarian Yank ;) .)

2.  Why did Tosh and Owen have so few scenes together in the last five episodes of S2?  Was this due to scheduling?  They knew they were leaving so they were off doing other projects and it was kind of hard to work around them?  Did the writing staff sour on the relationship and back off it?  Or something else?

3.  This isn't Tosh/Owen related, but why has it been said that they all had selfish motives to open the rift at the end of the first season?  It's arguable that Gwen and Owen did, although they had the added incentive of seeing the world going to hell and knowing that diseases were spreading, but Tosh and Ianto had been told they needed to open the rift to avert disaster.

This is a sad one, so be warned. ;)  Hope you like it anyway!

I have prepare an 18 part animation series (each part averaging about 2 minutes long), a sort of "Crackfic" for youtube.  (I write comedy on the side so of course I went the crackfic route.) It's Owen-centric; I call him Re-resurrected Owen. His love interest is, of course, Tosh; the animation program I used has no Asian avatars so I had to choose from a bad lot for Tosh.  There was a blonde avatar with little pink rimmed glasses and a sexy yet refined hair style and to me she was the best fit.  So I created the character, The Blonde Ghost of Tosh (BGO  Tosh for short).  I have become so fond of her I just might do another series featuring her as a kind of super-hero.  Ianto also appears in two episodes as Pleasant Zombie Ianto. Jack and Gwen also show up, as does the Lord of the Underworld and Esther from Bleak House.

The avatar I used for Owen looks a little like him and wears what looks like  a white doctor's coat; unfortunately he wears a bow tie and speaks perfect Oxford English, but I had some fun with that and came up with a compelling story-based reason for it.

Hi there... I am brand spanking new here, a middle aged fan of S1 and S2 Torchwood, and I have completed a Tosh/Owen video.  Now, for those who like lots of romance in their fanvids, this is not a particularly romantic one... I'll probably doing one along those lines later...this is a little darker.  (As if its title, Deathmates, wouldn't tip you off to that!)  It was inspired by a producer's quote on Torchwood Classified that death brought them together rather than them being parted.  Link is below....sorry I didn't embed, I'm having trouble finding the embed code.
