I don't know you guys. I seem to have lost my will to write rambling reviews. Lately I prefer to just enjoy the episodes, read what others have to say, and move on to the next episode. It's like I've "lost that loving feeling" for these posts.
But that's NOT to be taken as a reflection of the episodes themselves! I really liked this one! I liked watching an episode so full of ghosts! One where we see the boys from another character's point of view. And I am hooked by the questions raised at the end.
I think that was vague enough to not go under an LJ-cut, don't you? Especially since most of you on my flist will have watched the episode before reading this.
Anyways, the one thing I will put under a cut is my definitely spoilery critique/questioning:
This episode leaves me feeling very quiet. You know, the kind of quiet you get when something serious is going down. I was expecting this episode to be angsty, what with Sam's issues. But I was still in for a surprise as it turned out.
I admit that some time during Season 6 I started to lose enthusiasm and hope for this show. I honestly feel like it's kind of been staggering, limping, and maybe even fizzling out slowly. Don't kill me, please. It's my journal and I'm just voicing my feelings here.
But! Episodes like this one, and my enduring love for the Winchesters, are why I stick around so faithfully. This episode probably deserves one of my full rambling reviews that I used to write every week. But I'll leave that up to you, my flist. All I will say beyond that I really loved this episode and am really extra pumped after seeing the CW promo for 7x16, is that I loved the forked/snake tongue!
I'm not feeling particularly chatty or verbose tonight. So I'm going to try to keep it real short and simple:
Straight off, what a great episode!
Finally a Danny-centric one!
My and_ed As If! moment would be this: The marshal in the beginning, clearly understood the gravity of what he was seeing and why he needed to make the call (notice how I'm avoiding spoilers because I don't feel like using an lj-cut?), so why did he not simply text message? I realize this was the kind of news that warranted a phone call, but in my mind any well-trained officer would've thought to text message, and then call when he was in a safer place. At least that's how I feel about this.
I'm kind of amused at how the writers seem to be finding clever ways to keep the Steve-Lori flirting to a minimum. They went down that path (pun intended), and then got her out of the way pretty effectively for the rest of the episode.
