down the rabbit-hole

Title: down the rabbit-hole
Disclaimer: For better or for worse, this is mine. Alice in Wonderland, of course, was written by Lewis Carroll.
Form: 5 x 100 (series of five 100-word blocks)
Notes: Written along the lines of anon_j_anon's Panopticon, but this is nowhere near that in quality, and just a little experiment in setting text and using certain rhetorical devices, really. (And also the proof that, no matter how one reads, the writing process is quite a different one.) Suggestions and honest criticism are welcome.

who fic: stop crying your heart out

Title: stop crying your heart out
Beta: persiflage_1 -- I owe more to her than I can say. ♥
Rating: pg
Era: post JE, parallel universe
Characters: Handy (10.5, human!Doctor ...), alt!Martha, Rose
Disclaimer: I have not profited monetarily from this venture, nor do I claim original ownership of the characters and setting.
Notes: The third and final part of a series of stories concerning Handy, Rose, and an alternate Martha Jones in the parallel universe. Handy develops cardiomyopathy and requires a heart transplant; Martha Jones is his surgeon. But she also isn't Martha, which is a problem . . . Title shamelessly taken from Oasis' song of the same name.

who fic: it all comes out in the end

Title: it all comes out in the end
Beta: persiflage_1. I can't thank her enough for all of her help!
Era: post JE, parallel universe
Characters: 10.5 (Handy, human!Doctor ...), alt!Martha, Rose
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: I have not profited monetarily from this venture, nor do I claim original ownership of the characters and setting.
Notes: Sequel to there are always exceptions. This won't make much sense if you haven't read that first, I'm afraid. Written in a furious blaze when I should have been studying. Honest criticism appreciated.

Rating: PG
Disclaimer: I have not profited monetarily from this venture, nor do I claim original ownership of the characters and setting.
Characters: 10.5 (Handy/human!Doctor...) & alt!Martha
Notes: This idea has been haunting me for months now, like a demon. I'm not too sure about the final result myself. This has not been beta read.

trek drabble: the art of losing isn't hard to master

Title: the art of losing isn't hard to master
Genre: 100-word drabble
Era: tos or reboot, your pick
Rating: g
Character: christine chapel
Notes: written for the feb. 15 drabblefest at where_no_woman for prompt number fourteen: "the art of losing isn't hard to master" -- itself a quote from one of my favourite Elizabeth Bishop poems, "One Art".

note concerning "measuring time"

It has taken me a long time to accept the inevitable and simply state the fact that Measuring Time is not going to see an ending.

The story became something monstrous, incredibly difficult to control, something too twisted by my own difficulties. It is a Titanic that should never have set sail; that I learned a great deal from the sinking is another matter. I can no longer write in the way the story demands. Leaving it a fragment seems fitting, from a certain point of view -- I don't think much of closed systems. This leaves it halfway open.

Many apologies to those who were following the story. I also have not nearly words enough to thank you for your comments. In particular, I owe louisestrange, jademac2442, germankitty deepest gratitude. I learned so much from your suggestions, your criticisms, your insights, and cannot thank you enough.

If you would like to de-friend this journal, I completely understand and will not be offended.

trek acrostic: self-reflection

Title: self-reflection
Chronology: ST XI/reboot
Characters: Spock
Notes: This is the second acrostic written for anon_j_anon's challenge. I'm dissatisfied with this one but can't seem to come any further, so am offering it up for your criticism. Be honest with your opinion. Unlike Blink, this is only a double acrostic.

who acrostic: blink

Title: Blink
Era: Season 3, 1969
Characters: Martha, Ten
Rating: G
Notes: This is the first of several shots I've made at anon_j_anon's challenge to write multiple acrostics; it is far from perfect. (The second, a Trek piece, will be posted after some additional work.) Suggestions are more than welcome; also, don't hold back your criticism.

probably i have gone mad

... by signing up for doctorwho_100, the challenge with no less than one-hundred prompts, all to be written about one character or pairing (in my case, I hope to expound upon the human!Doctor/10.5 or rather Nameless, as I call him in my head). Sadly, no one has claimed Romana, and neither Four nor Donna have been claimed on their own merit ... In any case, let's see how far this goes or if it's all yet another symptom of my mediocrity complex. The prompt table is located behind the cut.
