Lucas really doesn't like Force Awakens

Or so this article says...

Lucas says Force Awakens looks too retro

I will wait to hear from other sources to come to the conclusion this is what Lucas really said about Force Awakens.

There had been concerns from fans that Disney will make the movies with a heavy emphasis to the Original Trilogy, and indeed Force Awakens feels like an OT tribute with its many references. Harrison Ford seemed like he was acting out this movie for old time's sake as opposed to how dynamic he was in the Original Trilogy.

There was the obligatory Milliennium Falcon, and even the Star Wars cantina was replicated. Jakku had the feel of Tatooine, and I wondered why they did not simply base Rey from Tatooine? How some of the other OT characters where brought into the movie, it had the feel, here they are, applause.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the movie over all, and seeing the old familiar scenes and characters, but it did feel like a tribute, as opposed to a entire new Star Wars film. Even the style and the circling pan shot in the end scene did not feel Star Wars, even the acting in some places. I miss the dynamics of the first six movies.

A picture is worth a thousand words...

Vilkas: You're not doing what that thing wants, are you?

Silvercat: Recovering the lost knowledge of the Dwemer through the blood of living Mer today? This cannot be overlooked.

Vikas: Mages...

The quest is for the Daedric Prince Hermaeus Mora, whose acolyte wants you to gather samples of blood from each of the mer races, including orcs and falmer, so he can replicate Dwemer blood to unlock a Dwemer box that requires the blood of a Dwemer.

Kind of a moral dilemma for Silvercat, who has seen the likes of the Daedric Princes Hircine and Molag Bal and has no love for them. But gathering small samples of blood from mer already killed in combat with a Dwemer device so greater mysteries can be unlocked seems harmless enough...

This screenie captures so well what Vilkas, a Nord warrior who is recently freed from Hircine's curse, lycanthropy, by Silvercat, and who is Silvercat's spouse, must think of this mage and elf business.

I posted this because I've seen yet again the "Bioware is so much better than TES because of STORY" argument. This time, DA2 is better than Skyrim, because Skyrim is boring and its characters are flat.

Bioware is great, that's true. They make great stories. DA2 turned out to be a hell of a lot better than everyone claims it is. But I get bored with DA2. I don't feel the story is my own, neither is the character.

With TES the character and the story is my own.
