Honestly, 2007 was a pretty good year, and I'm not just saying that in that nostalgic, looking back on the past that's always better than the present kind of way. It's not a biased thing at all. It was honestly a good year for me, I think. So as the tradition goes these days, I'm going to attempt to sum up my year, in a number of different categories, followed by my resolutions for 2008.
Okay, as if I wasn't ALREADY ADD-fanning with Doctor Who and HP right now...then I wake up this morning to new Matchbox Twenty music!!!!!! ACK!! It's been FOUR YEARS since we last got new Matchbox music!
Now I'm really going nuts! Everything at once! For me...never been a better time for the A's to be slumping. I'd be uber-depressed if I didn't have everything else distracting me!
So, really I don't have MUCH new to say after my 2nd viewing of OOTP. I still loved it, although I haven't quite obsessed as much as I did after the first viewing due to Doctor Who distraction. It seemed a lot longer to me the 2nd time and the pacing didn't bother me quite so much, but that was true of GOF for me as well.
I did, however, remember one thing that really bugged me that I forgot to include in my first review, so ( Collapse )

It looks freakking amazing. I cannot WAIT until July. Wow.
I must take a moment out from my regularly scheduled programming to say - the teaser trailer for Order of the Phoenix looks FUCKING cool. I can't wait!
I sort of finished book #19. It's the book of Harry Potter essays that I started reading back in March. I've been picking it up and putting it down as I see fit over that time, reading an essay whenever the fancy struck me, and I just read the last one. The book was Mapping the World of Harry Potter, it was edited by Mercedes Lackey, and it was just a set of essays by other SciFi/Fantasy writers analyzing the Harry Potter world. Some of the essays were fun and entertaining. Others were yawners. There was an entire essay about Snape-fic which was rather amusing. lol. So it wasn't just limited to essays about the series - also essays about fandom. Good stuff.
They recast Bellatrix Lestrange in OOTP - Helena Bonham Carter. How freaking perfect is that? In fact, when I think about it - that's EXACTLY who I would cast. I just never thought about it before. Absolutely awesome.
Why is there a picture of Karakoff *protectively hugging* Krum on my calendar today? The caption is: "Karakoff has a moment with Durmstrang champion Viktor Krum before the third task begins." Uh....yeah. It LOOKS like you're having a moment with him.
The slash fans are going to go nuts with this. LOLOLOL.
I just posted the first chapter of my HP (H/Hr) fic! I don't know why! I'm crazy! I guess I'm hoping that feedback might inspire me to work on it some more. But that requires people to actually READ it. *freaks out* I'm utterly terrified. This is such a bad idea... Somebody shoot me.
