Watson says “Holmes… this manuscript of yours…” and Holmes answers “Watson, if you don’t like it, you can write it up yourself.” Watson continues “I didn’t say that. It’s… embellished to say the least.” And Holmes quotes “His sin was that the Secret to the wide world he professed.”

Page 6, Holmes looks at the landscape through the window. His next words echo over a view of their small cottage in the Downs, “A far happier man, at ease in his mind and body, at home in a quiet place by the sea”

My main contribution to the wonderful @very-sincerely-yours-zine anthology, a comic on home, being with the one you love, and ageing into your best self. Thanks again to the amazing @haedraulics and @inevitablies for organising such a lovely project, and of course to everyone else involved for making it happen so splendidly! My personal goal for this short comic was twofold: to write something about an older Holmes who happens to be trans but which doesn't focus too much on it, and of course to finally let him quote Hafez as accurately as a period-accurate translation of Hafez would let him.
