I’ve been on Tumblr for a couple of years now. I’ve used it to post my #ootds , to vent about my relationships, and to reblog about random things. But then after the World Cup in Brazil things changed. 

I’ve always been into sports. Never played it in competitions, but I always participated in free activities. I like watching all kinds of sports. I’m a huge fan of Roger Federer. I adore Michael Jordan. I just started following the Warriors (as a Bay Area native this is a surprise). I would occasionally watch American football. I always watched baseball and basketball with my family. But then the World Cup happened and my life changed forever. 

I casually watched the group stage with a curious eye. Of course I rooted for the US. I had a crush on Clint Dempsey. Then I eyed some cute people from the Spanish Team. But my eyes were drawn to those of Argentina. I admit I was instantly attracted to Masche and Messi. I followed them and their country’s team from then on. 

It’s thanks to them that I found football. It’s thanks to them that I started to see the passion the athletes have for the game, and the passion the fans have too. I fell in love with these two men and in turn, fell in love with the sport itself. 

I didn’t start off as a Barca fan. I was actually closing in on someone from the English and the German league. I could have solely followed Arsenal/Liverpooll or Bayern Munich…. Weird huh. But I resorted to researching where my twos  favs played. It is through them that I found FC Barcelona. From then on, my life has never been the same.

I’m so in love with football. I’m so in love with Masche and Messi. I’m so in love with Luis Enrique. I’m so in love with FC Barcelona. 

It’s tough though. No one I know is a fan. No one I know understands. For them, football (or soccer as it is more known in the US) is boring or strange. One day I’ll find someone who understands.

I am content to have all of you here on Tumblr. You all understand and I am so very grateful.
