Random happy things

I'm going to meet mom in Destin after classes today, and spend the night there before coming home on Wednesday evening, so I probably won't be online much. I'm really looking forward to it; I haven't had a vacation in years and I could really do with a change of scenery.

Also, after serious thought, introspection and exploration of my options, I've decided to change my major to Criminal Justice. It's a big leap from English, but I think it's something I'll really enjoy, and I am keeping English as a minor. So...yeah. I feel kind of hopeful about this, which is a rare emotion for me.

On another happy note, for my birthday my best friend Bonnie got us tickets to see the Lipizzaner Stallions perform on the 25th of this month, and I've been counting down the days. I've wanted to go see them since I was eleven years old, and ever since she showed me the tickets I've been randomly squeeing and waving my arms about like a 14-year-old fangirl on a sugar high. XD

Things are actually starting to look up, much to my surprise. We'll see how long it stays that way.

ETA: Since I won't have the chance to post this later today, let me just say: OBAMA, FUCK YEAH!

Thoughts on Avatar

Yes, I know everyone else has already seen the latest Avatar episodes on Youtube or whatever, but I was too lazy to look 'em up and ended up waiting until they (fucking finally) showed on Nick. I just watched The Boiling Rock, and have some thoughts which I'll be putting under a cut, since someone else out there might've been living under a rock and might not appreciate spoilers, even though it's mostly going to be incoherent rambling and squeeing. Anywho.

In other news, my back deck is currently home to a bunch of wee little toads and some extremely well-fed geckos. I love summer. ♥

(no subject)

I just watched the premiere of Shark, a lawyer drama starring James Woods and Jeri Ryan. I really enjoyed it; James Woods is James Woods, and Jeri Ryan is playing the role she was born to play: that of a vicious, hate-filled woman who delights in the suffering of others. ~hearts~
