I did watch The Witch and even wrote up my running commentary for it but my laptop overheated and shut down -- I didn't save. *pout* So, instead of rewatching and doing the commentary again, I just moved onto this week's episode, Teacher's Pet. :)

As much as this episode freaks me out and I don't like it. It's a good episode. ;P Hee.

My apologies for jumping in starting at Ep 3, but my S1 DVDs arrived last weekend and by the time I'd caught up with the first couple of episodes it felt a bit redundant posting ;)

Before I get into my running commentary on Welcome to the Hellmouth, I've got to say that it was incredibly difficult to watch this episode with brand new, fresh eyes. I saw so many different undertones throughout the episode that you really get the sense of how intricate Whedon's Buffyverse really is. Despite this, I attempted to watch this episode as if it was the first time and my review, is more of a running commentary than review. :)

I totally need old skool icons.

I didn't have an LJ when Buffy came out. When it came out I was sixteen and transitioning from my sophomore to junior year of high school. So I'm going to post my reaction just like I would have written it when I first watched the series.

So, glassnowdrop beat me on doing a pic spam. This episode is full of pretty, although Buffy was one of the first series that dared to be pitch-black and almost celebrated a lack of lighting :D

Welcome to the Hellmouth

Since I never watched Buffy from the beginning, rather started with prophecy girl, so this was kinda exciting. I tried really hard to pretend like I hadn’t seen it before, but still. I love Xander, I find him really cool in this episode, even with the skateboard. And I love Darla. Not that we know she’s Darla get

Even loved buffy’s outfit in this episode.

Alyson Hanningan was also pretty awesome here, also. All terrified an innocent and adorable.

I really like the ending, I couldn’t imagine what it would have been like to have a pilot end on you like that, but MAN, did I want to watch the next episode.

And, badass theme music. Even now.

this comm was founded because me and etilia76 imagined what we would be like if we'ld had LJ when buffy first aired.

first episode to be watched is 'Welcome to the hellmouth'
