I have been conducting my own little survey. So far it seems to hold true. I had 1 abusive boyfriend for 6 years. He hated cats. My father, although not abusive toward me, was very nasty to my mother. Mental abuse. He hated cats. I have several friends who are happy in their relationships. All of their boyfriends/husbands like/love cats. I dated a guy who was wonderful; absolutely perfect (the ideal man). Loved cats. I have asked many women who have broken up with abusive men, all their men dislike cats.
There seems to be a pattern. It looks like men somehow associate women and cats, and a man who does not like his woman to be independent, outspoken, and “into” herself, also dislikes cats for the same reason.
Coincidence? Let me know of your cats and men.

Please make note of the purpose of this community is, it is to raise money to build the ultimate battered woman’s refuge. Not a shelter, a community, with stores, fences, and animals, a place where women can get away, be safe, and get a fresh start, complete with employment assistance, and vehicles. If you are trying to escape, you just want out, you normally leave with nothing. He makes sure of that, which is why most of us go back, it is scary to be alone, in a shelter, with your kids. This community will eliminate most of that, these women will have their own home, their own life. Plus counseling, assistance with social services, police, and private security protection.
