Bring it on 2012!

Collapse )

Usually I hit a larger amount of resolutions harder on the head. This year I got close to many, but ended up changing my mind or having it affected by the tornado. So as an update, we didn't get a second car but we did get new car. I am at 209 lbs, but I didn't start actively starting to lose weight until August. I'll be under 200 by February and I feel rad about that. I've so far lost 34 lbs. I decided to not apply for Seattle Alt Fashion Week because I want more respect from the main stream and I've started to get it. I dressed a couple of musicians, but no actors. I have an opportunity to get some stuff on a director for a couple of red carpet events in 2012, so we'll see how that goes. I wasn't able to travel due to the tornado. All of my pre-storm plans were quashed, but I did do many other things! I cut down on conventions (I only do Teslacon now), I got a studio space outside of my home, a went to SCORE for help with my business plan and I've reassessed my business. I have different clients, more respect from MN Fashion, new and interesting clients and a lot of cool ideas.

So on to 2012!

  • Get to 165 lbs and stay there

  • Make more time to read

  • Take at least one day off per week

  • Travel for business and pleasure

  • Make new business connections

  • Seriously look into production, take necessary steps to get to that point

  • Finish Business Plan

  • Get clothes on an actor, C-list or higher

  • Get into a mainstream publication

  • Take necessary steps to hire at least one employee

  • Get health insurance sorted so we can start a family in 2013

  • Find more ways to contribute to the charities for which I've been raising money

  • NY show in the fall

I think that looks good. Not easy, but doable. It'll definitely keep me on my toes.

Well, good luck to all of you in your resolutions!

    Little update :)

Stuff is still good. I'm working a lot. Ryan has my computer because his is broken. After Teslacon will be the look book shoot so everyone who contributed to my IndieGoGo, your thank yous will be sent out in December.

I'm almost at my 30lb by Teslacon goal (0.6 lbs to go). My next goal is 195 by New Years. My ultimate goal is to get to 165 by May.

I have a big client who has ordered a buttload of stuff so I should be stable at least through the winter.

    Things are okay :3

I am on Twitter a lot since I don't have my computer. Feel free to follow me over there. Maybe when I get my compy back I'll be here more. Love you all!

    This happened:

That is the CEO of Bare Escentuals with one of the BC Riot images done last year. Click the 1st image for the story. Click the second for the photo info.

    Awesome right?

    Then I did this:

Went to Southwest State for a tour with Ryan, Mitch and Angie. Ryan and Mitch will be going there this fall, Angie and I will be staying behind. This school, while not awful, is going to be small, full of children and boredom. So I feel bad for them. But we'll be without each other, so I feel bad for us. It is just a shitty situation that pretty much fucks up all of our plans for the next year and puts off a lot of things for the next 2 years.

I'm just having a hard time dealing with it. We had a really good conversation last night where I told him exactly how I feel and that in order for our relationship to continue being as amazing as it is, we'll both have to be able to talk openly and honestly about our feelings without the fear of the other taking it personally and starting a fight. I didn't even cry :) Yesterday was just emotionally draining. By the time I got home I had a pretty massive headache.

Today I'm sewing with Lizzy the intern, continuing the pre-party house scouring with Cthuluhaus, them going to see my friend Jonathan's band Three Minute Hero pay at Bunkers. He's wearing an outfit I made and I'm excited to see him in it. He always orders the most crazy clothes.

So anyway, it continues to be a lot of stuff. I am working on dealing with it. I'm glad I have such an amazing husband who loves me so much and wants to do anything he can to improve our lives. Plus he's so excited to be a food scientist. All these years he's said he didn't know what to be when he grew up. And when he discovered this, it just clicked. He wants to be Alton Brown :)

    So yeah. All that.
