On this day in 1822, the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley died. A few weeks earlier, he reported he’d seen an omen of his own death: his doppelganger, or double. Strangely enough, the double was seen by someone else as well.
People like to know what’s coming, even (especially) if it’s bad. It’s said no one wants to know the hour of their death, but if that were true, we wouldn’t have a whole list of death omens. Traditionally, signs of impending doom are found in two places: the natural and the supernatural. So come have a seat by the fire, and let’s hope we don’t cast headless shadows. (No, really.)

Maybe they’re having a family reunion, so there were about 10 people in the room when they heard the death knocks, eight when a bird flew into the house, and twelve when Grandma Janine dropped the scissors and the blade stuck into the floor. So it’s a process of elimination. And what if Aunt Grizelda with her fortune is one of the possibilities? Might someone want to bump her off and say it was meant to be?

Multifandom tropefest 2026 letter

* Humor, angst, smut, tragic emotions, tropey plots.
* Focus on the supernatural elements of the worldbuilding.
* Exploration of psychic powers and psychic shenanigans. Mind control or lighter influences.
* Skilled characters, especially good combination of skills of people working together.
* Ethical dilemmas (love vs ethics, hurting the person you love by telling the truth vs lying to them, etc)
* I love dialogue, mundane, double meanings, epic love confessions...
Do Not Want:
* All kinds of AUs except fairy tale AU canon divergence or low-key supernatural AU. Even in these, In the last two I'd rather characters keep their canon personality and most of their history, for fairy tale AUs as much as some of the themes or tropes are here go wild.
* Love at first sight. Mention of any character being in love/lust of another only for their looks.
* Cheating (emotional cheating of the A gets with C to get over B but it doesn't work is alright, so is poly)
* Unrequested non-canon ships.
* Mentions of pregnancy, lactation (Characters thinking about having kids are alright, just not the physical details)
* Medical themes, injuries with lasting effects, pandemics, syringes.
* Any non-canon apocalyptic or post-apocalyptic universe. Focus on mass death in general. Non-canon character death except if requested in a prompt.
* Character bashing (especially of an alternate romantic interest)
* Underage sex under 14 yo (can be mentioned as backstory if canon)
* Accidental/Arranged Marriage, De-Aging, Gender or sex swap, soulmates/soulmarks (soulbonds are okay)
* Humor based on misunderstandings or incompetence
