1) This is going to just about all of my communities, except a very small number of them. I've invited people that make icons to any number of my communities but haven't always gotten as many icon posts as I'd like; often cuz other members discouraged such posts. So, from now on, those of you that make icons are encouraged to join and post your work at Iconnage·Art...

...which isn't to say you can't keep posting what you do here, but I'd like you to post it there as well. Especially as it's specifically just an icon community I'd love for you to post there more than you do here and as often as possible.

This doesn't count icon posts or icon dumps of stuff you didn't make yourself, as some of my communities allow for.

2) Changing one of my standard rules: If you want to advertise any kind of community please do so at We·Need·a·Life and not here. I used to allow advertising in any of my communities if it kept to the theme of that community but I'd like to cut down on that a bit...until it dwindles to nothing.

Still working on the mood theme...

10:25 AM 1/6/09 · Even though that community I setup for Al hasn't been as active as either one us may've hoped, I still poke and prod it with stuff as any other community I mod.

By 'put together' I mean they were 2 separate images I literally put together.

In all my communities I allow for advertising so long as it fits the theme of the place. However, what a lot of people tend to miss is that I have an actual advertising community that they can advertise absolutely anything in.

We're not big on LJ·cuts so long as it's a single image.

Simply put, you don't need to go all out and fancy to make a community look right. A simple solid color for the background and resetting your colors for links and text and whatnot to be seen well with it and you're good to go.

This background (look directly at community) is actually not that big. I just switched the comm's background to all black and set the image to the lower bottom right.

Simple, no?

I stumbled across this community about a month ago and added it without much thought. Seemed like an interesting concept. Anyway, I noticed that there was something on the bio that said the moderator didn't have much experience with running a community and was willing to give it to someone that did. I asked about this without actually displaying interest...

...or so I thought.

Now I'm your moderator.

So far I've updated the background, after converting the community to S2. You'll probably not notice any significant difference other than the mood theme, same one I setup for Order·of·the·Bat. Update for the background was to make it larger so that the text appeared on the blank colored side instead of overlapping as it previously did on larger monitor resolutions.

May or may not keep the mood theme...still wondering about that. I just didn't have another Bat theme handy when I found out I was put in charge here.

Other than this post I noticed the place has been kinda dead since 2006. Going to have to work on that.
