  1. Dark Superstition
    by Gatecreeper
    supported by
    thekurtaction thumbnail
thekurtaction This album is strangely 'wholesome'... The production isn't suited for smaller speaker or cheap headphones but if you have the right equipment the guitar tone alone is making this an experience! Favorite track: Mistaken For Dead.
    scud_attack thumbnail
scud_attack Relentless, pulverizing, and groovy as hell. Favorite track: Caught In The Treads.
    sashavonkarl74 thumbnail
sashavonkarl74 Never been a full-fledged fan of previous albums, but this "Arizona meet Scandinavian" hybrid version of a more melodic, yet still wildly aggressive DM sound is making this latest opus by Gatecreeper stand out and reach new heights. Don't get me wrong, I love OSDM too, but this one is a gem! Favorite track: Oblivion.

    Sightless_Wisdom thumbnail
Sightless_Wisdom Be prepared to either die or go to jail because you will piss off your neighbors so much with how loud and powerful this music is that you will either fight to the death or kill your opponent and rot for the remainder of your days in prison. So basically the music will achieve its goal of laying waste to everyone and everything that hears it. Favorite track: Invoke War (feat. Machine Head).
    justintylerhughes thumbnail
justintylerhughes Savage heavy grooves Favorite track: Absolute Zero.
    positronicping thumbnail
positronicping Frozen Soul move ever closer to the Platonic ideal of death metal on this album. It's all timeless stuff, teeming with infectious riffs and pulverising grooves, as well as some appropriately icy atmospherics here and there. It might be meat and potatoes, but it's cooked by Michelin star chefs. Favorite track: Ethereal Dreams.

    thekurtaction thumbnail
thekurtaction Angular and addictive. It's all about clever songwriting on this one. Favorite track: Pain Enduring.
    palehorse666 thumbnail
palehorse666 violent, sexual, and nihilistic. Replicant are an act of pure rage and insanity. Favorite track: Orgasm of Bereavement.
    cypsee thumbnail
cypsee The combination of dissonant death metal texture with hardcore patterns here is really quite genius. Keening, sometimes challengingly pitchy vocal delivery brings massive depth of expression at all costs. For fans of dissonant pit-riffs ripping past like cold winds, this is one of the better albums of the decade so far. Very hard to choose a favourite song. Favorite track: Pain Enduring.

spectral_grøøve_HM2 True powerful and furious Death Metal material ! Explosive riffing and each instrument is meticulously recorded ! Amazing stuff ! Love that ! Favorite track: Abyss.
    YomaBarr thumbnail
YomaBarr Atmospheric blackened death metal with a tinge of doom, choirs of the damned and wicked solos. But don't you worry, it's the atmosphere of tar pits and mosh pits.
    Darknight thumbnail
Darknight The most badass Death Metal I've heard for quite a while. Cult Burial really have the darkened riffs nailed down with scorching gnarly vocals drenched in deathly howls of hell. Favorite track: Plague.

cold purveryor of narcotic death thumbnail
cold purveryor of narcotic death Let the dissolution of your hopes and dreams be the passenger, as the album drives our misery together.
    Cheveu Miracle thumbnail
Cheveu Miracle I've just been steamrolled. Really abrasive singer, the kind I like. Dissonant sound, akin to some experimental black metal bands at times.

    Ash Blind Ash Blind

    Piper Haqim thumbnail
Piper Haqim Listening to this right after BoD, and I can see why TO are so hyped on these guys and they are totes right to be because this album and BoD are 1) heavy 2) well paced 3) have this icy cold tone that just make it so hard to stop at one listen. Great debut album. Favorite track: World Breaker.
    Nocturnal Egg (Jordan) thumbnail
Favorite track: Hope.

    Ippocalyptica thumbnail
Ippocalyptica I was wondering where Suffering Hour would go after the masterful Cyclic Reckoning. I did not guess this direction, though I could not be more pleased! Revelation of Mortality is Suffering Hour’s most direct and aggressive song to date, while retaining everything dissonant and off-kilter that made us fans in the first place. Impelling Rebirth is a devastating EP across its 15 minutes, and is strong enough to tide us over until the next LP, which I hope further explores this newfound ferocity. Favorite track: Impelling Rebirth.
    Jacob Ballance thumbnail
Jacob Ballance THEY DO NOT MISS!!! one of my favorite bands, Suffering Hour just has such a unique guitar tone mixed with some crazy dissonant riffing, this EP is relentless and i’ve no doubt the full length is gonna be even better Favorite track: Inexorable Downfall.

A Christian Collects Death Metal thumbnail
A Christian Collects Death Metal The type of production that makes you feel like you're in the later stages of rigor mortis. Music for death enthusiasts and also death metal/goregrind enthusiasts. Part of my soul dissipated after this one. Favorite track: Voices.
