Adam Cohen Sick debut of raw, chaotic and savage death metal. Plenty of variety in tone, tempo and technique keeps this album engaging throughout while you're pummeled with all manner of grimy, blasting, frenzied, driving, hypnotic and even trippy moments. Ignobleth gives me a similar feeling as to when I first discovered Teitanblood many years ago. Time will tell if they stand amongst titans of this foul style of music, but this debut suggests they can and will.

Matt Medeiros What is in the water in Indonesia? The quality of brutal death metal from the Java region is insane. This record is an unrelenting onslaught in the tradition of classics like Disgorge and Brodequin. Comatose records DOES NOT miss! Favorite track: Labyrinth of Torment.

Urso X On one hand, a stress test of one’s tolerance for total sonic depravity, OTOH, an almost unfathomably creative, genuinely sick/enjoyable record feat. what’s gotta be vocal performance of the decade from Zhenya Frolov. I loved the growth and maturity Voidthrone displayed on Metaphysical Degradation (see review on TDW’s listing), but I’m in absolute awe of whatever [waves hands around] tf this is! Favorite track: I-III. First Blood.

Brent Davis I'm not sure Extreme Metal is supposed to be this much fun - is this sacrilege? Blasphemy?

Ye gods, Voidthrone - what hast thou wrought?!?

Ah, but isn't that the point of Metal? To shock, offend, be adversarial, challenge expectations, et cetera?

Anyway, Dreaming Rat is proof of Metal's truly protean nature - its form can vary so radically it beggars belief...

This is peak Deranged Metal. I hail thee, Voidthrone!

W00D3NGOAT999 Unholy Shit does this album absolutely kill it!!! The riffs spit cold venom from the desecrated chambers of a haunted forgotten castle far in the bitter unforgiving cold snow covered mountains where no human could ever survive only the creature of the cold NIGHT 🦇🦇🦇 Favorite track: Malefic Requiem.

Ippocalyptica Iceland never went away, but Iceland is so fucking back! I also have it on good authority that a few other Icelandic BM bands who have been “dormant” for a while will be erupting later this year. More thoughts to follow on 26 June.

bmurator Catalan Blackened Folk Metal. A one man, Naakhurz (Pol Guasch Palomas), project. Sung in Catalan & quite unique imho... :) I simply love the way this language sounds - there is something incredibly wise there & this can be seen in the lyrics as well! I can understand some but far from all - something else I need to learn! The music accompanies everything perfectly & is such that it lends an added depth to the entire oeuvre! This is fantastic & addictive Pol! No faves yet! Highly recommended!!!
