“Nothing’s the same anymore,” Ryo murmured, head resting on Dee’s chest. They were in Ryo’s bed, in what used to be Dee’s apartment but was now their shared home.
“Is that a bad thing?” For a moment, Dee was worried that Ryo regretted moving in with him.
“No, not bad, just…” Ryo sighed. “So much has changed, and it feels like it’s all happened so fast. Bikky going off to college, me moving in here with you, leaving my old apartment, my old neighbourhood, my old neighbours! I lived in that apartment for eight years, it’s where Bikky grew up, where so many memories were made.”
“Life goes on, people change, kids grow up,” Dee said quietly. “You can’t expect everything to stay the same.”
“I know, and I don’t, but… Even this place has changed. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s amazing, there’s so much space, but it’s going to take a while to get used to the new layout and for it to really feel like home.”
“Now that I can agree with. I keep goin’ to a closet that’s not there anymore, and I can’t find a damn thing in the kitchen.”
“It’s a big adjustment.”
