Yesterday ended up being a complete no-show. I achieved nothing, didn't get out of bed until lunchtime. I felt like a complete stereotypical depressed person and had a duvet day. Although it was pointed out to me that I'd had two very busy weekends and some stressful work days and was entitled to a rest. I still feel like I wasted the day but do feel a little better this morning.
Firstly, please excuse my language but 'fuck you Photobucket'- I spent a nice amount of time yesterday morning uploading the pictures for the Wibble-A-Thon only for it to tell me I have to pay $399 to be able to link my pictures... I don't think so. GRRR So, finding a new site for photo hosting then.
Secondly, dear Mirtazapine, we need to discuss your understanding of the word 'drowsiness'. Back on the anti-depressant as of Friday, take it around 9pm that night, it knocks me out by 9:45 and I slept like a log until 11am yesterday morning. 13 hours sleep. Woke up feeling groggy as all hell and like the Sahara had relocated on my tongue. Spent the whole day feeling drowsy and slow and heavy. Not fun.
Today I set an alarm for 8:30 so that I'd get up because I have stuff to do. I need to get to the grocery store. And, if nothing else, I want to do laundry and take out the recycling. I also have an Amazon delivery due to the locker down the road.
Good morning *looks at clock* um... good afternoon! A little later than I like to do my wibbles but I had a line-in this morning then went down into town to see my friend Emma who's moved her awesome little shop Vintage Geek into a much bigger shop and was having a grand opening party. There was a TARDIS and a dalek and cake! I bought myself a Harry Potter notebook and have my eye on a Alohamora doormat :)
Operation 'Surprise Raintown in Newcastle' was a roaring success. I shall be posting about it all. My body hates me though, joints are aching like crazy so I think my plan for today involves sitting with my legs up and spending time with my friends naproxen and codeine!
I really need to get Bob! to focus on the SG1 Reverse Big Bang fic. I have a lot to write and not a lot of time to write it in. I've got the next scene plotted out. Hell while stuck in traffic on Friday and I opened up the voice recorder on my phone and dictated a conversation that needs to happen between Daniel and Sam!
Breakfast first, while listening to some Goo Goo Dolls and getting ready the ( Collapse )
*yawns and stretches* Morning internets. Now I'm gonna lie and say that was the best nights sleep ever because it wasn't, you know what it's like when things are new! The mattress topper though is amazing, it's definitely given my old mattress a new lease of life - so firm and comfy. The new pillows are going to take a little bit of getting used to though. And I switched to my summer duvet too soon so I'll pop the heavy one back on again before I go to bed tonight.
Today's plans involve going to the shop and topping up the electric because I'm low, purging the work clothes and sorting out the pile of stuff over there *hand wavey* Mostly, though, the plan is to rest after a busy weekend of Doing Stuff because tomorrow there is work again.
Also during the course of this week I need to: find a charge my spare battery pack; find and charge my ipod, print out tickets, print out hotel confirmation, shave my legs, pluck my eyebrows, pack and clean out Lotte Yes, there are shenanigans happening next weekend :D
And just like that it appears to be morning. It's a Monday-esque morning for me - first day back at work after a long weekend for AT9. Current levels of fatigue and achiness have me wishing I'd booked today off as well but heyho. At least it's only a 4 day work week.
I shall definitely be acquiring the caffeine before I get to the office though.
So, for anyone who isn't following my on social media, I've had an, uh, eventful couple of days.
Late Wednesday night into Thursday morning I started coming down with the virus that's going round - Vomiting, diarrhea, thumping headache, aching muscles. Forced myself to go into work Thursday morning but got sent home after 45 minutes after throwing up in the office (ok, sprinting down the office to the bathroom but still!)
Friday morning I was feeling mostly better. Hadn't thrown up in like 8 hours, was keeping water down and felt more like myself so I figured I'd go to work. Got up, showered, dressed and was just leaving the house when my stomach cramped. Got to the loo, and while I was sitting there I passed out. Clean forward onto the floor in front of the loo, woke up sprawled half in/half out the bathroom. All around my left eye was grazed and the frame of my glasses were snapped - the lens was absolutely fine though! I was also feeling woozy, dizzy and sick. As the next hour went on, I started feeling very drowsy and my eyesight was getting a little blurry - but I wasn't sure how much of this was not having my glasses on.
Luckily there's a branch of my opticians in the small town I live in so I walked down and yes, they had my frame in stock. And because my lenses weren't damaged, they were able to just pop them into the new frame.
Then, I just caught a bus up the hospital because yeah, I knew I needed to get checked out. I'd hit my head pretty hard and was displaying some concussion symptoms. Being only like 9:30 on Friday morning they were fairly quiet so I got seen quickly. Very thorough doctor gave me a good once over, was a little concerned about the blurriness in my peripheral vision so she sent me for a CT scan. No brain injury so they kept me in for a couple hours for obs but did then just clean my face up and send me home with a long list of what to do, what not to do and 'come back if this happens'.
Over the course of the weekend some wonderful bruising has come out. I am literally black/blue/purple/red from my nose to my ear and up to my hairline. There's a wonderful smudge of purple across my forehead and the bridge of my nose. My eye is grazed across the top of my eyebrow and right across the top of my cheek right under my eye. My eyelid and top of my cheek are so swollen that my eye is swollen shut.
It's such a great look. Although, I am really glad it happened this weekend and not in two weeks because con starts on the 29th... Hopefully I should be all healed by then!
