Eddie Izzard | Hot Pink

Hi

I am going to post here, just to see what happens. I am still owner/moderator of this community, which is wild, considering I moved away from Arizona in 2014. I now live in Vermont. Big change!

But, wow. So many memories here. Anyone still read this thing? Probably not. The internet is a weird place. So many spots like this... where people used to hang out, that still exist but no one visits anymore (except me, I suppose). It just sits here... does it exist if I'm not reading it? I wonder when all this will go poof! Because, certainly, it will, one day.

So I have this weird situation ~

I got two photo red light citations (city of Phoenix) in one week (its part of my commute and they just activated the camera, I guess). I want to contest the second one (I'll "own" the first one) because I don't feel that its "fair' to receive a second citation without having received the first one due to the mail delay and thus have no opportunity to correct my behavior. My court dates are literally 7 days apart for the two citations. I've already been served, so no option to "wait it out."

I'm really confused as to the best way to do this, because I want to go to the traffic school for the first one so I avoid the points on my license. Should I go to the first court date to contest the second citation (can I even do that?)? If I do the driving school, that voids my court date, so that appointment would no longer stand. If I show up to the second court date to contest the second citation, I'm thinking they're not going to care about the first citation since it would already be resolved at that point and they won't dismiss it. Also I'm confused as to whether or not I qualify for defensive driving school or if I have to go to the traffic survival school. Until now, I had 0 points on my license (this is my first ever experience with law enforcement, really) and I thought that TSS was reserved for people who rack up lots of points or who have DUIs, etc. It says on the sheet that all red light violators have to go to TSS unless they qualify for DDS, but it isn't clear on if I'm qualified.

I don't see information on who I can call to discuss the best method, so short of talking to an expensive lawyer, I'm hoping someone here can help. I'm just a bit concerned that I may do this the wrong way and mess things up. Thank you for your help.

Cancelled driver's license.

I've been searching for hours and can't find an answer to this question. Maybe one of you can help me or at least point me in a direction to find my answers. I suppose I could just call the DMV but...well I'm sure you know how fun that is.

Almost 2 years ago I got a DUI. I went through all the programs, went to jail, paid everything off...etc. However, I didn't get the interlock device installed because I didn't want to put it on my dad's truck since that was the vehicle I was driving at the time. Last year I got tired of having to go get a new ID card and I knew it was going to be awhile before I'd drive again, so I cancelled my license entirely. I probably should have asked this while I was there, but I wasn't thinking about it.

Now I've gone almost 2 years without my license and I know that it says that your license will be suspended until you get the interlock, but my license isn't suspended, I pretty much just don't have one. I'm really considering trying to get it back soon though.

So my questions are, will I even be able to get my license back without having the interlock installed, or will I get it and then have it suspended until I get it? And will I have to take the test and go through all that all over again in order to get my license back?

Thanks. :)
